With Stop 1 complete, Hayden & I set out to explore Stop 2 - Sanfrancisco. Thanks to Olivia i was prepared for the fact that Sanfran had good shopping (see Shoppers Guide magazine) but i knew little of the city apart from the fact that this was where Full House was filmed and cable cars belonged.
Before i go on let me just say this city is nuts, its so hilly cars park with their wheels turned in. Sanfran is certainly not the city for anyone who is in a wheelchair, has foot problems, has leg problems, has hip problems or is just not generally fit because if your living or working in the downtown area walking is a sport in itself here.
Golden Gate Good Fortune Cookie Factory For the life of me i cant remember why we visited this place, apart from the fact that they made fortune cookies! The machine squirts out the stuff and the lady folds them once they have been cooked and cooled. Being a bit overwhelmed by the fascinating process i bought myeslf a packet - bad idea, the bag was big and i was eating fortune cookies for the next 3

S2 is in the air
These are in the middle of the square in Sanfran, cool huh?
days because 1) it wouldnt fit in my suitcase and 2)i wanted to see how many cookies i had to eat until my fortune 'repeated itself'.
World's Crookedest StreetI
Okay, i must admit i didnt even know this place existed, but it does and it was in the lonely planet. I dont know why anyone would make a street so complicated - it would be annoying if you were a resident there becaues tourists would drive down your street, taking up valuable road space just so they could experience driving down a road with curves. Now Hayden & I didnt do such silly things (partly because we didnt have a car or a licence) but we took lots of photos haha. Its a beautiful street nevertheless.
Coit Tower The walk up to this place was horrendus, long, hilly and very good for your butt and legs (which i didnt care for at the time but the effects of which im sure my body appreciated). The view from the top of the hill was beautiful and even more so on the top of the tower. Sanfran is actually a really nice city, the streets are long and have so
much character (think Full House haha) and its right next to the water with views of Alcatraz and Angel Island as well as the Bay and Golden Bridge. Being next to the water made it more windy and cold. We also visited the Pier and rode on a cable car. We also got the city pass in Sanfran and that had sooo many activities to do we didnt end up finishing it i think. However, included is free cable car rides (which are normally $5). They are such a novelty because they are slow and make lots of noise - plus you have to wait for AGES just to get on one because they are always full. However, being an avid full house fan i had to try one, it was good :)
By the way, Sanfran has lots of buskers and lots of them are actually quite good. We saw a good breakdancing show and there are some fantastic sketchers as well. The most funniest way we saw a person seek money was when he was hiding behind a car down the street with some branches of a tree/bush. Once in a while when someone would walk close

Apartments
The artwork in Sanfran is soooo cooool
hed shake the branch and move it towards them to scare them. In a matter of minutes this man had a devotee crowd of around 20+ people waiting to see when hed strike next, it was halarious haha. Some people are so creative :D
