Today was a really awesome day. And it was awesome because I got to meet a really good friend of mine from the internet. A web developer, a graphic designer, as well as a gamer guru from the company Razer; Melonie Mac!
Melonie and I have known eachother on a video game forum over the last four years or so. Finally, we get to meet in person!
So this morning, I had to make for Razer Headquarters. She'd be able to visit me during lunch break, between 12:30 and 1:30. I had to make sure I got there on time.
I was a little bit worried at first, because the next train I had to catch was at 10:50. Razer Headquarters is about half an hour north up the coast from San Diego, at a town called Carlsbad. I took the train, then took a taxi once I got there. I got to our meeting place early! We were due for lunch at the Karl Strauss Brewery.
So I met her at around 12:30pm; recognised her instantly from across the parking lot. We greeted and headed inside.
We had a fantastic chat while sat down, and we ate some cool stuff, like pasta and burgers. Of course over here though, they seem to like calling burgers "sandwiches". Musn't forget that.
So Melonie and I sat, ate, and discussed various meaningful conversation material. Life. All the great topics such as travelling, achieving your dreams, believing in yourself, you know the drill. We also discussed her career at Razer and how it's helped her become more known to the public eye, and how I could try to achieve the same as a traveller.
Although we were only able to meet for an hour, we weren't worried at all; we were already so caught up in great conversation that it was enough to make the whole day. I won't lie; Melonie is super cool! I'm glad I got to talk once again about this kind of thing. I hope sooner or later I can get started on video logging, as Melonie has already done.
We said goodbye at 1:30pm and rest assured, this won't be goodbye forever. I headed back into Carlsbad and checked out the beach while waiting for the train back.
Now it's time for me to head back to my hostel, have some pizza, and just relax. Ok, maybe not. I need to plan for my trip to Arizona tomorrow! I've decided to hire a car and drive to some of the famous National Parks of that state.
