So it's been a while. I just haven't felt like writing. I mean I have felt like writing and telling everyone about whats up, but not at the right times. It's been so much easier to just upload a picture to facebook than actually sitting down, writing about what has happened. But the time has come, and I'm pretty sure this will be one long blog. Wow, it's been so long and so much has happened. I'm gonna split it up into chapters, because that's basically how life here has been. Chapters of living at different places and hanging out with different people. Hillcrest So last time I wrote I was living at a hostel in Ocean Beach, and I was just about to move in to my own place, in Hillcrest. I picked that spot ... read more

Hej igen!

Amphibious Robotic Snake rumor has it that in recent times been declassified subsequent to decade of works, despite the fact that the agency in charge for organizing it remains not mentioned and unspecified. In spite of its incredibly impressive and strangely lifelike robot, it has also some tremendously useful real-life functions. The robosnake or snake robot is modular. It means that its divided sections can be put together in any numeral desired. Between of the sections are unfilled, flexible stretchy lengths tubes so as to let the robot machine to turn and twist and push itself frontward, and in adding up to provided that much-needed good spirits or buoyancy. Going it alone: the road to San Diego My route from Joshua Tree to San Diego was all planned out, I was to take the scenic route, as advised by a Ranger, and was really looking forward to the journey, it encompassed a Desert Park, a few vineyards, a couple of quaint towns and sounded great. I started off touring the part of Joshua Tree park I hadn’t covered the day before – the route from Twenty-Nine Palms to Cottonwood Springs. I hadn’t planned to spend much time there, having spent all day there on the Saturday, but once you start getting out the car and wandering around, you just want to see more. The southern part of the park was quite different from the Mojave Desert section – and not just by the absence of ... read more

“Let’s go to Australia,” Shauna has been saying to me for over 2 years. I of course have always wanted to see the magic of Australia (Oz for short) but I have always been obsessed with South America. I decided to backpack through Central and South America until Justin and Shauna convinced me to come to Oz. “Let’s do it!” I didn’t actually think I would go to Australia. Most of the time I use the power of attraction by thinking and speaking it into existence but this time I could not envision myself in Oz. Then I realized my obsession with Oz died when my BFF Steve Irwin died in 2006. I grew up watching Stev-o and always imagined working for the Australian Zoo. That’s it! I could not give up on 14 year ... read more

When I was 14 I made an extensive list of things I must do in my lifetime. One of the items on the list was to get a Master’s degree. I have accomplished a lot of my childhood short-term dreams but I still needed to get a Masters in something. It had been 6 months since I lost my job at the San Diego Zoo, so I figured what better time to go to grad school than now. I put my all into playing the role of grad student, yet something still did not feel right. I pushed myself for months justifying why this program was the best decision for me. Then one day I couldn’t stand it anymore and I snapped. I learned 5 credits and $4,150 too late that the program I was ... read more

Our 30th Wedding Anniversary today! Had a lie in and then started the next leg of the journey. Thank goodness for AAA route planner, got us on the road really easily, think I would like a Sat Nav if we did it again though. Stopped at a view point on the way which was swarming with ground squirrels. They were fun to watch. Arrived at San Diego which again was nothing like i had imagined, it is so vast. In England if you arrive in Brighton, that’s what you find - the town, the beach, here there is town, town and more town and beach, beach and more beach! Had a job finding our hotel, it was all very confusing. Staying at Holiday Inn Mission Plaza, which is a bit like the Travelodge but not as ... read more
