The last time the girls were together was then they were around 3 yrs old. My how they've grown and changed into beautiful young women. In essence its almost as if we don't know Skye, but in our hearts we do. Us moms, Lois and I have had the recent privilege of reconnecting after a 16 year hiatus. We don't look back on the whys of a friendship gone astray, we look forward to all the endeavors we are now able to share. Lois found me on my last blog when I went to NYC this past summer so you can now officially classify me as a true blog believer. Recently I said, "when life gives you a second chance at a friendship gone astray, you take it!" And then....you go to Hawaii with your daughters ... read more

Day3/Day4 Day 3-Sven and I decided to wake up and go for a mountain bike in an old familiar spot. Now, I have only done a few easy rides and I am still getting comfortable, hence the eagerness to practice in a known location to Sven so he could talk me through the trail. While things were going well and we were having fun, the sun was getting hot. Sven talked me through our last tactical part and we were home free, almost. As I set up to attack the whoop in front of me with full speed, I hit the breaks to slow down and slide out on some sand, lost control of my bike, I put my foot down to catch myself but it did no good. I rolled my ankle, then rolled the ... read more

Day 2- Made it to Redondo beach,Ca to spent some quality time with my 85 year old Nana. We went for a scenic beach walk, followed by breakfast. Later on, Sven and I rode bikes down the beach and played in the waves and each proceeded to get a mean sunburn. My Aunt Lauretta and youngest cousin, Roxi came to catch up with us as well. We set out to Oceanside,Ca to visit Sven's Mom, step dad and brother, Johnny. Johnny will soon be deployed to Afghanistan and let me try on some of his gear. Needless to say, keep him in safe thoughts as he sets out to support our country. We love you Johnny, see you in a few months.... read more

After staying a the night in Escondido, California with kaity's aunt - who just happens to have 100 avocado trees next to their property- so cool, we headed off early to meet elliot's cousin Brent and his wife Danielle. We had a great morning and afternoon with them in San Diego - had breakfast at cafe 222, drove around downtown sd, seaport and up through surrounding areas of sd! We also got to see their wedding pics, which were awesome! At 3 pm we jumped in the rental and headed toward San Luis Obispo - our first stop on our drive to San francisco, it took us over 7 hours to finally make it to the motel... April 21, 2010 So I've been back to work for a couple days now, but mainly have been catching up on paperwork. Today I get to get back into the lab and run some reactions. :) I've included some pictures of the company I work at in Oceanside. Oceanside is about 30 miles north of where I live in San Diego. I leave for work at 6:30 am to beat the traffic. I've also included a picture of my desk. When I'm not in lab, I'm there reading papers and writing reports. As you can see I've made my area very bright and cheery. When I worked for a different company I had a bigger office and I decorated the entire wall with postcards from all the places I've been. After a while, friends starting giving ... read more

Welcome to another blog from your Wandering Gal, I am so looking forward to sharing my next adventure with anyone that is interested enough to read it! You will never guess where I am if you knew me at all. Up to this point I have tried to have to use a passport on any trip and the further the better. But you know what they say about exploring your own backyard first. So I have embarked on a journey to a less exotic place but a warm region, english is the language here but there is lots of diversity of culture everywhere, enough with the suspence I am in southern California my homesbase will be Oceanside, I must confess I am a Californis Native so it shouldn't be to different, wrong I am from Northern ... read more

Well yesterday we travelled alot, today we did the same. This morning we checked-out of the Excalibur hotel & casino and said goodbye to Las Vegas for the last time and headed on a journey back to the west coast to San Diego. It was a long drive we had to head back over to LA then head down the coast to San Diego, took just over 6 hours with a couple of stops in between. I can't believe how early it gets dark here. It was 1630 and the sun had set, so it felt like it was about 2300 and it was on like 1930 lol. because it took most of the day to get here everyone was really tired so we didn't go out or anything, just go some takeaway and rested in ... read more

Hi all, Well, we're still here. Brian and I have been cutting holes in the boats and the tanks and trying to figure out what has happened. On Monday, October 26, we dinghied out to the Shelter Island fishing pier and watched the Ha Ha fleet sail away. We were both a little teary eyed watching them go. All of our crew except Bonnie and Ray found another boat to go on, so we hope they have a good time. It turns out that there is another Cooper 416 her in San Diego. She is named Redcoat and her skipper is Brian Cavilier. He sought me out so we could talk about the boat. Brian invited me onto his boat and I was able to see the differences, and look at his fuel tank, which had ... read more
