After a lot of drama Jag and I finally got married on Dec 13th 2004. Unfortunately Neer (my sister) could not make it for the wedding due to visa issues and hence Jag and I decided to go for our honeymoon to US just to meet her.. and it was totally totally worth it !!!

I started looking for air tickets 4 months ahead and got a super cool deal for just 725$ each, but (rather and!) the route was all around the world!! What more can a newly wed couple who just wanted to be together ask for.. we were super excited about visiting Srilanka (where my dad lived then), Bangkok, Singapore and the US of A!

We first landed in Srilanka and since our connecting flight was 10 hours later, Srilankan Airlines very courteously offered us a free stay at a 5-star. We were so excited that we just strolled around the hotel and hardly slept that night.
In Bangkok, we had 1 whole day and decided to move around on our own. We took a bus from the airport to the centre of the city and then just walked around. We had authentic Thai food on the streets, did some shopping, and also joined a huge group of people performing aerobics near a beautiful lake ... I still remember how Neer laughed after seeing those aerobic videos You can laugh as well.. check out the videos here..
And then finally.. after a longg flight journey, we landed in US (for the first time). Neer and I hugged and cried and Jag was standing there all embarrassed We then drove down to her beautiful home and it was so damn clean!! Neer and Arun love cleaning and the first fews days was too tough for Jag and I We would have thought we cleaned the place but there comes another complaint from my dear sister !!! Hahah.. funny times!
Neer had planned out our whole trip for 40 days and it was packed and fun-filled. Arun, my brother-in-law (the sweetest person I have ever met) drove us around and drove a lot!!! The trip was like..
- 3 days in Disneyland.. and Neer and I didnt spare a single ride. The "MEN" who were not as daring as us just clicked pictures and gaped at us
- 3 days in San Diego at Arun's friends house.. was good fun with Manu and Laddu..
- A few days in San Jose at Rashmi's place with cutie Rohan - the most well behaved 2 year old ever! (ofcourse now Dhruv leads! Wonder how these US babies are so well behaved !!)
- "Highlight": Neer sponsored a trip to Las Vegas just for Jag and myself and it was awesome!!! Our helicopter ride over the Las Vegas Strip and seeing Grand Canyon filled with Snow are a couple of moments I will never forget for life!!

Neer and Arun made our honeymoon really really memorable .. thanks dear!

And then on 17th January our 40 day fabulous vacation came to an end.. hmmm..not actually On our way back we took a tour around Singapore as well .. all thanks to the awesome Singapore Tourism Department for organizing free trips
Also, as mentioned earlier, our cheap ticket gave us the opportunity to come via Srilanka again!! This time we stayed with Appa for a day and then got back!

What a honeymoon.. 40 days of just pure fun!!
