Christmas 2012 Another amazing year for the Roses of Roseville! That’s what I said, THE ROSES OF ROSEVILLE! We are settled in Sun City Roseville, California. This is exactly what we have been looking for the last few years and can’t believe our luck in finding it. It is a 55+ golf course community with 27 holes of golf, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, great clubs and neighbors and close to family. We moved in on January 30 and Dwight had a golf cart by February 2. We have comfortable guest quarters and several family and friends have already signed our guestbook. We hosted our first holiday, Easter, with family and friends and our traditional Egg Hunt. We are halfway between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe and we have had several ... read more

Greetings from the Roseville Rose's!!!! We found a home so our our Homeless Odyssey has come to an end!!! So this will be our final BLOG update. We have settled in a Del Web Active Adult community in Roseville, CA which is a suburb Sacramento. About two hours East of San Franciscco, 2 hours West of Tahoe/Reno and about 1.5 hours from Napa Valley. So a great location to entertain all of our friends around the world when they come to visit us!!! It has 27 holes of golf. Our home is not on the golf course but Dwight bought a golf cart so it is a very short drive to the clubhouse. So far Dwight has managed to play all 7 days in March. Joan has played several times also. There is also an indoor ... read more

We are here and have taken possession of our new home. We are waiting for our furniture, sleeping on the floor with a blow up mattress and sleeping bags. We borrowed a card table and two chairs from Joan's brother. But life is sweet and we are delighted with our choice of homes. As it turned out, both boys were here on Monday when we moved in. Adam flew in from Honolulu (direct flights from Honolulu to Sacramento on Hawaiian Air - good to know) on Sunday night to go skiing with Ben at Lake Tahoe. So Ben picked him up at the house and we all shared our first meal together. McDonald's on the patio, no chairs! This certainly bodes well for seeing more of the family! Here is our new address: 5995 Timberlodge Lane ... read more

My Summer of ‘73 My summer of 1973 was a summer filled with travel and adventure. I had just finished my first year at MIT, and I was full of energy and craving some excitement, so I embarked on two exciting journeys. The first trip was a hitchhiking trip through New England and down the Atlantic coast to Washington, DC. The second trip was a drive around the United States, traveling from Massachusetts to Texas to California and Colorado before I left the guys I was with, and took a bus ride to North Dakota, to work on my cousin Curt’s farm. Trip #1: One of my friends at MIT, Alan Shapiro, and I decided to hitchhike around New England and head down to Washington, DC where we would go to the Allman Brothers/Grateful Dead concert ... read more
