In the lift crew room at June
Yes, avid readers, the rumours are true and June has unfortunately closed! Management decided that we were 'unable to provide an adequate customer experience' due to the lack of snow and when we rocked up to work on Sunday (28th)we were informed that it was our last day. This came as a suprise to everyone (except management) and pissed off a lot of people, needless to say being a lifty we copped the full brunt of peoples annoyance on the day.

It wasnt totally bad news for us as we were thinking about coming home at the start of March anyway and this just made it official, Shane (our manager) offered to hook us up with some jobs over at Mammoth but we politely declined and it now looks as though we will be back on the 22nd of Feb. It was frustrating though as the announcement came as a complete suprise and we therefore had only minimal savings as we were counting on at least 4 more weeks of full time work in which to save up enough money to do some travelling! It meant that heading across the country to NYC is pretty much impossible and while we

The aftermath of Aus day
had originally planned to head down to vegas for a few nights our lift fell through. Hopefully though we can head up to Reno then across to San Fran so we can at least get a taste of some different cities before heading back to the #1 most livable city Mel-born.

Havent been up to much in the last week, Nathan caught a nasty flu that has pretty much struck down all in Mammoth Lakes and spent the majority of the week unable to get out of bed, while I worked a couple of final days at June sitting on chair 1 while the last few employees wrapped up loose ends (i managed to finish a 500+ page book in a day and a bit of stressful work! 😉 ). Now we are just hanging around watching TV (the superbowl was yesterday and while it was a great game the buildup was a bit sickening) and getting some skiing in, its supposed to snow wednesday and fri/sat/sun which would be just our luck, as soon as we plan to leave the bad (read good) weather starts to set in!

Anyway enjoy the pics and will keep posted on

On our last day we ironically got around 10 inches of snow! Unfortunately even if it had snowed 5 feet we still would have closed
our exact plans!

Much to our amusement a bus rocked up when we were tearing everything down at June, in the end though it turned out they were just making a stop
