The first day was a veryyyyy long (thanks to crossing the international date line) and drama filled day. Where to begin. Firstly, while sitting at the airport waiting to leave melbourne i discovered that my little laptop that i specifically bought to bring with me wasn't working. Then, we realised that Karen and i had been seated sepately in the plane! We were the 3rd bunch of people to check in and we checked in together, and the stupid women went and sat us apart!!!
Then we had a stopover in Auckland only to discover that when i tried to send a text my phone wouldn't connect to a network!! Arghhhh!! And, again, we weren't sitting together!! o well,i sat next to a lovely couple from just out of Seattle so got some advise on places from them. In the mean time, back in Melbourne , Dad was on the phone to Optus asking (in fewer words) why the guy who i spoke to days earlier didn't activate Roaming on my mobile like he was supposed to. I arrived in LA, problem solved...THANKS DAD!!
Before heading to Vegas we had about 5 had at LAX. We found maccas for lunch (fyi, they dont have a 'small' meal here, their smallest is 'medium' but its actually the size an aussie large. Also, we managed to find a LAPD officer on his motorbike to have a photo with!!
Anyway, finally arrived in Las Vegas, jumped in the closest shuttle and headed to our accommodation for the night, the world famous Bellagio.
We checked in then made our way down 'The Strip' to discover wonderful things like Paris, New York New York, Coca Cola and M&M world, MGM and many, many souvenir shops. Then darkness fell and the whole place just lit up! its amazing! We ran into batman and spiderman and took many photos (no surprise there!) All in all, im liking the US! The people have been lovely (even more so when they realise ur Australian!) i do have a couple of issues wit the place though. Firstly, this gratuities is abit of a crock and also, i HATE that tax isnt included in the price of things! Just add it on!! I need to track down Obama n sort that out with him!
Part of trip:
USA, Canada, Mexico

Aww hun! Sounds hectic already! Glad you're having an awesome time though! Hope you're doing all the ground work in Vegas ready for when we just have ONE darn day there! lol
Yeah, the tax thing is a bit frustrating! You get all the right change ready and then they ask for a different amount than you were expecting. SOOO random! lol
Love n hugs x x
Hilarious. Wow they're really living up to their rep those Yanks! Did you two share your maccas meal then?! How do i check out ur pics btw?
~Why~ isn't tax added on the prices for?
Sagi! no tax is added on at the register so what ever the price is on the shelf, u kno to add a lil more onto it at the counter!
same thing happened to flo and i when we travelled to London. full plane and could not change, they are idiots. yes, i agree they love Aussies. can't wait to go again. stay safe :)
