It's Monday evening of my final week at work and it still hasn't really hit me. I have 3 more days left of work and yet all I can think about is all the stuff I need to do. I think it's going to take me awhile to unwind. I'm in the go, go, go mindset. It's crunch time at work as I try to wrap up some loose ends. Too much to do, too little time. Yes, I'm in America. We seem to always be in a hurry. Get me outta here! :)
I went to Costco today to get passport photos. Not for my passport, mind you, that's already taken care of (I'm not THAT far behind). But I need photos for my scuba diving certification and visas. I got 4. Hope that's enough.
I still need to get my second Hepatitis B shot...the first one was taken over a month ago. It's a 3 shot dealio, and I'm overdue for #2. I'll get it done. Really.
Still working on health insurance...my current health insurance policy ends at the end of the month. I'll need health insurance plus travellers insurance. Placed a call in to my HMO and I'm trying to get the paperwork together for COBRA before I leave. Travellers insurance should be pretty easy. Last I checked, it will cost about $200 for medical insurance while I'm overseas.
I have one cell phone and it's a business phone. I lose that soon, maybe even tomorrow. Hmmm, I'm working on a replacement. It needs to be a GSM phone so I can take it overseas. I've delegated that task. Chris, how are we doing with the cell phone. :)
I just got another lock for my backpack. All I'm taking over to SE Asia for my 67 days of travel is one backpack so I'm trying to keep it somewhat secure when it's not on me. One lock & cable to secure it to anything that looks stable, and another lock to keep the zippers closed.
Meanwhile, I'm scheduling lunches/happy hours/dinners with friends before I leave.
Here's the recap of my travel schedule in case you haven't been paying attention:
Colorado (December 19-29)
SE Asia (January 5-March 13)
Oh, I guess I hadn't talked about Colorado yet. Sorry. I'm going to Denver to visit family and friends during Christmas.
And there is more in the works. I'm planning a trip to Germany/Italy for late April. Short 7-10 day trip with my friend Jim.
And maybe Hawaii too to visit my friend Toni in early April.
Ok, there you have it.
Take a deep breath. Everything is just fine. Really. :)
