Mandy Conquers the World - "Take Two"

I start with these 5 words - Oops! I did it again :(

... JUST KIDDDDDDDDING!!! I MADE IT - I'm finally in LA!!! *big smiles*

THE FLIGHT

I must say that the flight over to LA was not the best flight I've ever taken. As soon as I sat down, I was like WTF, why is there NO TV SCREEN infront of my seat. Must I really sit with nothing infront of me for 13 hours? SERIOUSLY? :(

Flying out of Australia.. we experienced some really, like REALLY bad turbulence. It was really freaky! The whole plane was shaking and I even shook out of my seat a few times. You know when you're on a rollercoaster ride and you swear your tummy is going to turn any second bcos its flippin like mad? Yep, that was happening to me and at one point I was quietly freaking out to myself and had to say "Mandy, just keep reading your magazine and pretend your in a car and it will all be over soon".. even the lady sitting on the same row gave me this "concerned" look of acknowledgement. It was pretty bad..

Anyway, the turbulence lasted for about 30 mins and then it stopped *phew*. I was sitting next to this chinese man who kept spitting throughout the ENTIRE flight. It was like a hacking.. like a "HAUERRRRRRRRR" noise like he was trying to dislodge a huge fkn piece of phlegm and then he would spit it out and repeat it every so often. Dont ask me what he spat in because I didnt look. And you know what my top pet hate is? YEP! You guessed it babeh - people spitting :(

Cohey, you know that day at work when i thought i was getting eczema but you said it wasn't and then I said maybe I was allergic to coffee? *mandy points at rash on neck*

WELL, 2 hrs before arriving I broke out in that rash. NOT just my neck.. but my ENTIRE body. YES, I looked like I was some crackwhore with lacerations all over herself. I have bloomed into one big RASH. I didnt have any of my allergy pills on me so I had to wait until I got to my hotel room and you know what, Im still RASHING! If I find a doctor I will seek help.. only because you can actually see it and its not going away. Its even spreading to my face! I really wonder why Im rashing out so bed .. it is yet to be determined!

Ok enough about the bad stuff.. lets talk about the happy positive shiet!

The best thing about the flight was being able to enjoy the view while sitting at the window :) I tell ya, seeing the sunset amongst the clouds is breathtaking. If only I could of taken a photo. I think it was at that point it hit me. It hit me that I'm actually going away for 2 months and that this is going to be a life changing (i hope) experience for me? *shrugs*

LOS ANGELES

The weather in LA is absolutely BEW-DI-FUL! Its sunny and warm and the people here are so nice and helpful. I think they really like the Aussie accent - so I think I will use that as much to my advantage and throw the words "flamin mongrel" and "bloody oath" and "mate in most sentences. Thank you ALF - always knew Home and Away would come in handy one day :)

My first place I thought I would go visit was Manhattan Beach since I love the water so much. It is somewhere I could definately see myself living. Its not at all like Bondi or any other beach I've seen in Perth. Its alot more peaceful, and still had a very surbaban feel with shops, cafes and restaurants surrounding it. And the people - again are very nice and helpful! I loved it.

OO OO i went into this chocolate factory where they make caramel covered apples. Like toffee apples but they werent covered in the hard red toffee where u smash a few teeth. This is the REAL DEAL. I've taken a snappy but I cant upload it here. Seroiusly, they had Mud Pie Apple, Snickers covered apples but I bought the Peanut Butter Explosian Apple. Nah you have to see my foto to understand why.

I also went and got myself a pedicure at this nail salon and OMG, they were viet. ARE ALL NAIL SALONS OWNED BY VIETS? SEROIUSLY!? I wanted a korean one like you see in Legally Blonde and they bitch about you in their language. Maybe next time.

Alright, well I've just spoken to Mikey my travel partner and we will be meeting up tomorrow morning when he arrives into LA and heading over to Hollywood where we will be staying near that chinese man theatre. Anyyyyhoooties, This blog was really to let everyone know that I have finally left the country and I am safe.

I'm missing my buddies big time.. wish I could share all this with ya but hopefully I will get the photos posted up soon.
