Vicki and I are back where this adventure started a little under 3 weeks ago, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

After a day that started in New York we caught Delta's 1pm service to LAX. As is the way in the USA the plane departed right on time, and was packed to the rafters, and arrived about 10 minutes early. We met Thomas a young Frenchmen who is working in a gallery in New York and was flying to LA on business and meeting with one of his artists. A very interesting man, we did have a little trouble understanding his broad French accent but apart from that a real pleasure to sit next to for the best part of 6 hours.

We have just finished dinner at Gladstones, an American Seafood restaurant chain that is at LAX, and are as ready as we can be to head home, the time has certainly gone very quickly and it only feels like a few days ago that we touched down in LA ready for our adventure.

Highlights, there have been way too many list and I have tried to do that each day via this blog but here goes;

1. Niagara Falls, not just for the falls but to meet up with my cousin David and his family (wife Zoe and daughter Caitlin) are memories that you just don't forget. The fact it was at a place as beautiful as Niagara Falls was a real bonus.

2. Grand Canyon, photos just do not do this place justice. It is somewhere we will look forward to visiting again in the future. One real talking point for Vicki was her first experience of seeing snow fall of all places one of the seven wonders of the world.

3. The strangers we met that are now friends. Sarah in San Francisco has emailed Vicki and spoke to her on Facebook. Also Corrie who met on the Wine Train at Napa and her dad Bill. Both ladies were complete strangers to us but are now friends and such lovely people to boot.

I deliberately kept it to 3 highlights as there really were way to many too mention in one post.

To the people who have followed our adventures and commented on the blog and liked on Facebook, Vicki and I are truly grateful for your interest.

We arrive home in Syndey at 6:15am local time on Sunday 28 October after what has truly been a wonderful and fantastic holiday.
