Las Vegas So we made it to the airport at the un-godly hour of 4:30am. Checked in and had another un-memorable flight. Think we're both getting pretty pee'd off with flying these days but I suppose you can't complain. Didn't help that we had to change at San Francisco and had a 3 hour wait for the flight to Vegas. Having set off in beautiful sunshine and almost a heat wave we found ourselves driving into a huge cloud that clung to the mountain range as we drove into California again and into LA. Convinced it was going to improve we kept looking for the sunshine to reappear and brighten the way to the sunshine coast but it never happened. Seattle So we arrived into Downtown Seattle and set forth on the journey to find somewhere to live for the next 6 days. The first hote we tried was well out of our league, a real posh boutique little number, he sent us packing, cheapest rate was $199.00 a night, no thank you very much!! On our way again with our backpacks, 20 hours bus journey on us and our new jansport backpack, so technically Jav was carrying 2 backpacks!! Day 34- Farmers market Today we had a relaxing day, we decided to go to the farmers market in even hotter weather (101F). It was a quaint place with loads of stalls selling everything from horseradish to maple syrup. We had some food from one of the stalls and grabbed a few things before the heat got to much and walked back to the hotel to get packed and ready for the coach trip in the morning. [View Full Entry]

Day 33- Universal Studios So off to Universal today on another hot day. I was brave enough to go on every ride and I didn't even cry when I went through the scary house which all manner of monsters and scary people jumping out at me. We only just managed to fit in all the attractions/shows before the park closed and with the exception of the studio tour we didn't really queue. Day 32 - LA After a refreshing 17hrs sleep we were ready to go and decided to head to Hollywood Blvd to check out the sights. We saw the Chinese theatre, the walk of fame, the Kodak theatre etc but it was a little to busy for our tastes and being hounded by cartoon characters and wannabe rap stars did begin to grate. Day -31 Back to the future Today is the flight to Los Angeles. We left Christchurch (and stick with me here!) for Auckland at about 9.40am 23rd April, Then we boarded the flight in Auckland at 7.15pm later that day and arrived in La La land at 12.15pm earlier the same day! We arrived in LA on the 26th, it was pretty strange having two 26ths! We found our way to our hostel in Hollywood where we stayed for 2 nights... after seeing the stars on the walk of fame - Hollywood Boulevard, and getting the bus close to where the Hollywood sign was we felt like we were ready to move on! Hollywood isn't particularly glamorous and is actually quite dirty and full of tramps!! The plastic people who think they're beautiful were funny though!
