After arriving at our hotel I was disappointed to hear that Disneyland was closing early due to some Halloween Party so off we went to California Adventrue park just next door. It was so crowded we only got to go on a few rides before closing. Never mind we still have 4 days.
The next day we took a tour of LA with our friend Ray. Our first stop was the famous tattoo shop from the show LA Ink - High Voltage unfortunately Kat Von De was not working that day but it was fun to have a look around and visit the tattoo art gallery next door. Then onto Rodeo Drive where we walked the promenade and took a few snaps. We didn't see anyone famous. Next was Manns Chinese Theatre - The walk of Fame - The Kodak Theatre where the Oscars are held and off in the distance the famous HOLLYWOOD sign.
We then went to Farmers market, another hang out for celebrities for lunch again no sightings but a nice lunch. After lunch we visited the famous Venice Beach where I think just about every weirdo in LA hangs out. We saw midgets dressed as
Chucky - You can even visit a doctor to get a prescription for medicinal marijuana for a small fee.
We saw the famous muscle beach gym where there were old guys flexing their muscles. Enough of weirdo land onto the baseball.
On our way to the baseball we took a detour down skid row. LA has the most homeless people in the world. They build their houses from cardboard boxed on the side walks.
The LA Dodgers were playing their last home game and we were lucky enough to get some great tickets - well the seats where we sat were great even though I don't think they were actually the ones we paid for. Apparently you just keep changing seats until you are just about at the front. John really enjoyed it as he had never been before. It is different to Australia where we have fans form both teams, here 99.9% of the fans are for the home team. They have so much national pride here every single person in the crowd loves the national anthem and sing loud and proud with their hand on their heart - it was great to be a part
of. Then comes the 7th inning stretch where everyone stands and sings Take me out to the ball game. Dodgers won 3-2.
Today is pouring with rain so no Disneyland visit. Hopefully it will fine up so we can go their tomorrow.
Well once again it is pouring and I am so disappointed that we did not get to visit Disneyland again - I am sure that John is not as disappointed. I already made him go on California Screamin for those that have been their they will know what its like.
Well everyone - It is time to pack up and come home. 46 kgs extra luggage and about at least 5kg each in extra weight gained we are at the end of our fantastic holiday. Hope you all enjoyed our blogs.
SEE YOU IN SYDNEY
Love John and Vickie
