Checking out Travel Blog to see if it would be a good vehicle to post our travel notes and some pics for family to see what we are up to. We have had new tires and routine maintenance done on the trailer. Monday we drive Donna's van to San Francisco to try to obtain a passport for me. Hope this blog program works out.... read more

Hallo Freunde! Preparations are well underway for the Woz Cup 2009 in the Ross household! Rob is so proud of the new Gold Rush jerseys and his prized new helmet. You may have noticed the "photo montage" he posted on his facebook account. He'll be the only player on the field with a custom helmet painted by none other than the great Art Himsl! Seriously, Art Himsl. He's been busy practicing with a new mallet & talkin' strategy. With as many late night calls from the mysterious "Oz" over the last few weeks, a girl could question if he was having an affair. But rest assured my friends, I've met team captain "Oz" and I can safely say that the man eats, breathes & sleeps segway polo right now. No time for hanky panky....its all 'bout ... read more

Things are going well. I have been busy balancing work and my free time. My free time usually consists of sleeping, playing dominoes and planning our Thanksgiving adventure, but mostly sleeping. If I stay up past 10pm, that is late for me. We have been continuing with our trainings on a daily basis and as time passes we get antsier and antsier with anticipation for the near future when we will be in Mississippi actually doing work. Last Wednesday was a good change of pace as my team got to go out on a day project. Our day was split in half. Before lunch we were working with Progressive. They are celebrating their 70th anniversary, so in honor of that they are planting 70 trees in 70 cities around the country. We got to help the ... read more

The girls and I set off for Folsom on Saturday morning. We arrived in the middle of the "unloading" of our moving trucks...boxes and paper and furniture everywhere. Seeing the house for the first time was AWESOME! We love it. Dad picked a great place!! There are wild turkeys roaming around in the mornings...lots of beautiful California oak trees...rolling hills. Sunset is beautiful to take in every night... We are moving in and making it our "home." Slowly but surely! ... read more

Well, it being St. Patrick's Day here in the States, Holly and I decided we would go out for some good ol' Corned Beef and Cabbage for dinner. There being two Streets of London Public Houses (not Irish, we know, but close enough) within a short drive from our home we went to check out the St. Patrick's Day party action at the Folsom location (there is also a SOLP in mid-town Sacramento). For all die-hard Anglophiles/Europhiles like Holly and I, or if you're a Limey (please take no offense, none intended) living in the States and are somewhat homesick, Streets of London Pub is the place to be. Having lived in England myself and experiencing first hand a real English pub ambiance, the old Coca-Cola advertising jingle "There's nothing like the real thing, Baby" holds ... read more
