Day 7 - Grand Canyon to Barstow, CA

Nothing exciting today. Got up at 4 am and left around 5:30am. The goal today is to beat the heat because we'll be traveling through the Mojave desert. At one point, George said it was 105 degrees. I asked him not to tell me anymore. We arrived at the Best Western (that's right, no camping tonight) around noon. Piper has been a real trouper. We've been careful to keep her hydrated everytime we stop for gas. We gave her a break and left her in her kennel in the room while we went to IHOP. Came back and washed clothes. Real exciting stuff, huh?
