Ken got up around 6:30 and went down to the lobby to get some coffee. He said it tasted dreadful. We have an expresso machine in our RV, so we are spoiled with good coffee. If it isn’t good, we’d rather not have any. He went out to the RV to see if the freezer was still cold. The bag of ice we had in there had just started to melt. The chicken was still frozen. The items in the refrigerator section were still cold, but we threw everything out just in case. There wasn’t much left.
He came back up to the room; we took showers and packed up. As he was loading up, I went to the hotel lobby and got some breakfast for us: granola, toast, orange juice. Stopped for gas at Safeway; I ran in and got Starbucks coffee and we’re back on the road.
This drive from Show Low, down to Oro Valley, via route 77 is so beautiful. We see a sign outside of Globe that the road is closed for construction, except on weekends. Good for us. Back to the heat; we are 80 miles outside of Tucson and it’s already 106 degrees. I’m not looking forward to the heat.
We are coming home one day early, but since our RV is ‘broken’ we want to get it home. It’s also good to have Sunday to slowly get back in the realm of reality. I hate this part of a trip, hate this feeling. Time to plan another one.
Thanks for letting us share our time with you. It was a relaxing, fun, beautiful trip. Hope you enjoyed it.
