Saw this as we were getting close to the Grand Canyon
We arrived at the Grand Canyon amid snow flurries and cold temps. Snow came off and on and only enough to make the ground wet. But when it came it blew like crazy and one had to be bundled up. We saw many who had not prepared and looked frozen (or maybe they were from Alaska). We still were able to get a few nice pictures among the clouds and haze --- the sun even came out once in a while but temps stayed around mid 40's. We had 2 nights of cold temps ( 20's) and had to run our diesel hot water furnace. Today, Wednesday, we had decided to hike the Bright Angle Trail and as pictures will show it was a beautiful hike. We started off with temps about 41 and the sun shinning brightly. We dressed with sweatshirts and backpacks and hats. When we got to approximately 3 miles we peeled cloths down to shorts and T-shirts. We went down about 3 miles before deciding to turn around and head back. The down trip is steep and you drop quickly - no level terrain anywhere. We found that we were better prepared than we thought we were.

The climb up turned out to be slightly easier than we expected. When we got to the top we were sweating but found it chilly. We got to the car and drove back to the RV. We start down about 10 am, got to our turn around pt about 11:30, ate our lunch, and then walked back up arriving about 2pm. We were pleased that we had done so well. Tomorrow will tell!
