On y arrive à 9h15. On arrive finalement à Tuba City ... read more

Niespełna 10 km trasa wyciska z nas pot i łzy. Kolejność: zejście na dół – wejście ... read more

Geo: 36.0262, -112.136My, my. What to say about today. I am speechless, and that almost never happens, as you all know. There are no words to describe the incredible beauty that is the Grand Canyon. This entry will be more about photos than words. We left the hotel this morning at 8:15 and headed north. We were on our way after stopping at the Safe Way for supplies to make sandwiches. I know from past experience, it is better to bring your own food when visiting the parks, as restaurants are few and sometimes inconvenient. The trip out of town took us down the main street in Williams, which is right out of the 50's. It is restaurants and motels, many with signs that have not been modernized in 60 years. It is quaint and it is ... read more

Limited internet connectivity at the Grand Canyon, my phone does pretty well if I placed it in the right window of the RV, so there are 3 days covered in this blog. Day 11 - Sunday the 19th was a day of much needed rest; Mi Hyon and I hung around the Zion River RV resort and enjoyed some great weather. Many of you may not know, but Mi Hyon has a stream fetish and loves to sit by the river w/ her feet in the cold water. Add some Lager and it just doesn't get much better for her. For me it was nice to not have to drive anywhere until Monday...then it's a short 320 miles to the Grand Canyon... Day 12 - It's now Monday and we're on the road again w/ some ... read more

We've done it - the Grand Canyon. We travelled from Sedona to Flagstaff -where we stopped at a Downtown Diner for pancakes and french toast and blueberries with half a gallon of maple syrup- we then took the Old Fort Valley Road, avoiding a busy highway....a great route with beautiful pine forests and snow toped mountain views. When we stopped at Valle we filled up the gas ( see I am talking american already)and got our Grand Canyon Park pass and so at the entry gate to the park we could sail on through pretty quick. I did book our campsite ages ago ( just as well as they are all full) and so we got straight into it ...parked up and in no time armed with shuttle bus maps we got going for the South ... read more

If you have never seen the Grand Canyon, put it on your bucket list. If you have seen it, go again, we did and we were still in awe! We traveled from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon. it was interesting to see alert signs along the road for elk and lion, we are use to seeing deer crossing. We were at the southern rim and hiked the Bright Angel trail. We intended to go to a cabin that was 3 miles down (6 mile round trip) however the trail was getting steeper and steeper as we traveled down, and we thought more about the hike. We got down about one and a half miles to where the rock changes from grey/white to red, and with the wisdom of our years we decided to turn around. After ... read more

Dawn wanted to take the kids on a big trip before Dimitri goes off to college and spring break was the perfect time to do that. She had in mind the Grand Canyon so I investigated various itineraries and it turns out that flying in to Las Vegas, renting a car, and then driving to the Grand Canyon with a stop at Hoover Dam made the most sense from both a financial and quality of experience standpoint. Spirit Airlines had the best fares but, as it turns out, they charge $50 a bag even for carry-ons if they don’t fit under the seat. The flight was late leaving Houston on Sunday and the airline didn’t provide any explanations so Spirit did not get off on the right foot with us. We got into McCarran Airport in ... read more
