Trailview to GC Village
A view from the Trailview area looking towards the Grand Canyon Village
We drove into the Grand Canyon National Park and drove east along Desert View Drive and stopped at several lookouts, such as Grandview Point and Pipe Creek Vista, before heading back to the Visitor Centre to park and catch the red hop on hop off Hermits Rest Route shuttle bus west.
We got on and off the shuttle at Trailview Overlook and Maricopa Point. At Maricopa Point, we walked along the trail to Powell Point and Hopi Point. We re-boarded the shuttle again and got on and off at Mohave Point, The Abyss, Monument Creek Vista and Pima Point.
There wasn’t enough time go get off at Hermits Rest, so we took the red shuttle back down to get our car and then we drove to the airport for our Helicopter ride.
Our helicopter tour was the Imperial Tour with Papillon and it took about 45 minutes, flying over the canyon and giving us incredible views.

Chopper around Grand Canyon
So, you did do the chopper flight - well done you; and it has to be worth it for a great travel experience. Glad you got a smooth operator; at one stage some of the chopper pilots were ex-Vietnam jockeys who got their kicks from pulling some hairy flight moves (and ginger tablets wouldn't settle that).
