It''s On!
New back end cap in place....needs painting now Blue Moon....."without a dream in my heart" EXCEPT to get moving onward and out of Alabama. But that doesn't look feasible until late next week....the holiday has added to the extended stay because once they start the paint job....they don't want to just do part of it and leave it. Fortunately, we can attend the big festivities at the Coon Dog Cemetery (bands, food, dancing) on Sept. 3rd (our granddaughter's birthday) so we shall celebrate that at the C-D-C. Happy Birthday, Sara. Making more lemonade........ Trivia: 2 full moons in one month: the second one is called a "blue moon"....doesn't occur that often. We met a nice couple from Atlanta, Georgia. We went out to dinner together to one of the few restaurants we hadn't tried. Only fair food but very good company. Again, I ordered catfish....Swamp John's beats them all. The other day while traveling, we noticed ANOTHER Swamp John restaurant.....he has a satellite business!! This restaurant looked fairly normal but we didn't have the opportunity to try it. Swamp also has big trunks at the gas station location for his catering business....he is an entrepreneur. Little did we know.....you should never judge a book by its "murals"! Catering
Swamp John's is Big Business We are finding the Southern accent a challange at times. The other day, when they were going to arrange lodging for us (HAH!), the fellow asked if we had "pie-at" ---- I couldn't figure out if he was talking about a food dish or a disease. Neither....he wanted to know if we had a PET....sadly, I had to say no. It is interesting how they take a one syllable word and turn it into a two syllable word. I use to do that with "Pig Latin". Not a lot of photos to share as you can see.......will keep looking for interesting tidbits to pass on. We had no storm problems here...just some sprinkles today.....typical, not a lot of action in Red Bay, Alabama - even with the weather. Didn't have to use the storm shelter after all.....rats!
