Things have finally slowed down and chilled out and life is good. Colin and I took the bus down to Guaymas and then headed out to a small beach pueblo called San Carlos that is absolutely beautiful. We decided that traveling too fast and not getting enough sleep was adding some unecessary stress, so we are staying here for a while. We also learned that renting places for a week is much cheaper than for a night or two so now we have a sweet apartment style hotel room to live in for the next week that is right on the beach. It has been beautiful and sunny every day and I have been soaking up the rays and swimming a bunch in the Gulf of California and it has totally soothed my soul.
I have found that traveling in Mexico is interesting because I dont think very many people do it backpacker style, like you find more in Central America and Europe. It seems like a lot of people dont understand what we are doing and so sometimes that makes it hard to interact with the locals because they are working hard all day and think we are just there
to party. I have been trying to branch out and meet more people, but so far it has been slow, except for a few really cool people who picked us up while we were hitch hiking. And when I ask locals questions about things (which I do often) they take time to help me and are very open to talk to me, so that is also a good way to interact. But as far as meeting people in hostels goes, there is not much of that, because so far I havent seen any hostels here. Colin and I have only met one other person traveling like us, Yoav from Israel, and he was having a similar experience.
Its funny though.. when I am laying on the beach all day, swimming around, and hanging out, I do feel like Im on vacation, while the locals are around me working away, and a lot of times not for much money (the taco stands on the street sell tacos for like 6 pesos which is about 50 cents). So I do feel unbelievably priviledged and it makes think about what Im doing and it also makes me feel gratefull for everything I have

and everything I have been given. Right now is a really special time for me to be able to travel the world like Im doing and I want to get the most out of it as I can. But as I learned from past travels, everything comes with time and you just have to be open and awake to new opportunities and experiences. So I must have patience, and keep perceviering and staying conscious and the world will reveal itself to me... and for now Im on the vacation of a lifetime.
Eso es todo por ahora.
