...And my computer was dead when I got home! All better now.
George, Nancy and I spent two wonderful weeks in my magical city of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. We saw as much as we could cram into the short span and saw many of my friends.
Lots of pictures will be forthcoming, but I'll start with the few that I have. I did not take my digital because I haven't yet had time to learn how to use it! Still using the throw aways as did Nancy. George, however, had his digital and has a ton of pictures for me to share with you. I will just as soon as I get and organize them.
We stayed at the Hotel Mucuy in the heart of downtown (Centro) Merida. Walking distance from so many great things to do, see, eat and make merry. The website is www.mucuy.com. Look at the site. You'll be amazed at the price. We were!
The owners and staff were fabulous. Hello, Ms. Ofelia!! Thank you again!
The pictures that I've attached of Hotel Mucuy are from inside the courtyard of the hotel. We spent our downtime there.
Our second day in
Merida was St. Patrick's Day. Of course, I had planned a party! Silly friends. And my favorite place? Why,
TGI Friday's in Merida!
All my friends (with the exception of one) who worked there were working that Tuesday and glad to see me. When we moved to the patio for karaoke Guillo and his friends caught up with us. Guillo had tried to teach me Spanish in 2007 but apparently I was too busy and my accent (said by many) was too heavy in the Texan dialect.
Guillo and friends met us several times during our stay for playtime - As did Jo.
Susie, my special transplanted Texan friend, was absolutely loved by Nancy and George. Long time talk about and to but hadn't met. Then it happened!
We met great new friends, Ed and Shelley from Utah and Collin from Austin. Interesting, friendly, adventure loving folks!
There's so many things to tell you, but I'll wait til I gather the other pictures.
As a teaser, our adventures included a Picasso exhibit, seeing the dawn Spring Solstice at the pyramid at Dzbilchaltun, the Governor's Palace, Home & Garden walking home tour, city tour bus
excursion and many, many more things.
So this is just one of a few blogs.
Stay tuned Friends!
George, Susie and NancyWhat we called the 'Green Umbrellas' was a great place to go and only a couple of blocks from the hotel.
AlexMany TGI Friday friends. I need to post separate with all their photos (fotos in Spanish).

Well it looks like you sure had some fun! When you come back in July and have time, get up with us in Chelem. It would be fun to get together! There is just nothing like the Yucatan, we expats at the beach have a wonderful community, I'd like to invite you to join us! If you get a chance sign on as a follower on my blog, I have been stuck at 15 for 2 weeks, I'm starting to get that feeling that nobody loves me!
By all means I'll add you to the blog and you can always email me if you want to opt out. I'm looking for a 4th of July party almost as soon as I get there and can't find anyone that knows whether Buddy's in Progreso is doing that celebration again. The blog has photos of the 2007 Fourth party. I do want to go visit Katie and Jim at the Sandcastle Inn too if I can find a good way to travel there (had my own wheels when I lived there). Still have the white vans (combi ?) going down there? Thanks for joining and especially for enjoying my dribble!
