WHAT a view !!Just down the beach from our hotel .... on one of our "morning strolls".
Leaving Thailand was hard …. but preparing for Mazatlan compensated !!!!
Our flight back to LA from Bangkok was uneventful. It was the shortest time we had ever spent in total hours to or from Bangkok ….. 19 hours !!! The worst part was getting back into the USA with the LOOOOONG lines at the customs entry. You hear the Americans often complaining about the long waits at the customs of other countries …. Thailand included … but we have never spent as much time at ANY other customs entry as we did at the LA entry this time. We love flying in and out of LAX … BUT …. the customs procedure has got to be improved !!!
After spending a few days in LA, getting our bodies back into sync, and spending time at Manhatten Beach, we boarded the flight to Mazatlan. After the long flight from Bangkok , this flight seemed like a “blink”.
When checking in to Les Flores Hotel in Mazatlan, ( .... we had picked up both the flight and hotel from Sky Auction.com , before we had left
home in November ..... quite CHEAP :-) !!! ) we were quite surprised to have been assigned a nice large room with kitchenette and dinette ( didn’t know they still had these available ..... with the space crunch in Mazatlan ) … and a wonderful balcony facing the ocean ..... perfect for morning breakfast and coffee as we watch the people strolling the beach in the mornings.
There weren’t many things we had on our “ for sure to do” list. Most of the touristy things we had done on previous visits but we did want to re-visit the La Cocina de Ana for the best ribs in Mazatlan ….. and we did ….. a couple times !!!
Almost every morning we strolled the ocean shore after breakfast ...... probably my most favorite time of the day. The weather was beautiful ...... a couple very windy ( but warm) days, but all in all …GREAT !!!
Again, our time was too short , next time we’ll plan for a longer visit. On Feb. 23 we arrived back in the USA ....... again to the LOOOONG customs lines !!!
The best place for RIBS ... in Mazatlan About 5 years ago we were directed , by a couple locals , to this little " out of the way" place. It's like a buffet, but they weigh your plate after you choose what you want from the selections on t
