Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean "I'll miss you till we meet again". We were sad to say good-bye to grandma and grandpa who left for home (Crossfield Alberta) today. I hate good-byes, so I say, "till we meet again". The kids are going to miss you both, but we've established a good yearly (or bi-yearly) ritual of getting together.
This has been a wonderful summer vacation, and ending it at Porto Playa Condo Hotels is an added bonus. I LOVE Luna, but after a while being oceanfront, you can appreciate a break from the constant stream of sounds, noises, and crowds. This condo is set back a block from the ocean, but in the heart of Playa but you'd never know there was a bustling happening outside the doors.
The waterfalls make you feel like gumby; all relaxed and laid back. There are banana trees at this condo hotel which are SO cool to see. The maintenance workers here keep the flowers, plants and trees meticulously manicured and we appreciate the care and attention.
As mentioned this place is serenity and it's 11 am and we are almost
alone in a huge pool surrounded by tropical trees which you almost have to blink to make sure you're not dreaming the whole shebang, or perhaps that you've had too much sun! I've got rooftop views of the ocean while I lounge around watching the kids dip in and out of the swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
Al went diving today, and on the boat were a couple from BC. This guy was over the top Al said, with thousands of dollars of equipment and talk endlessly about the cost of his wet suit, and his video equipment. It's good Al was already jumping off a boat or he'd feel inclined to do so with that guy yarning on. I would hate to be on a boat and stuck with someone who got on my nerves. Anyhow he got some great video footage. He saw some big turtles, moray eels, lobster, huge crab (25 pounds!) and 2 stone fish which I mentioned before, are venomous if poked or prodded, but they leave you alone and you leave them alone.
I wish I had a secretary to download all our pics and videos and then write these blogs 😊
After he got back we enjoyed a picnic on the rooftop; enjoying our last full day here. We leave tomorrow at 4:30 and as sad as we are to say goodbye to Playa and the majestic Riviera Maya, we are also happy to go back to our everyday life with family and friends. We miss you guys, and the girls MISS their friends.
I've posted a few pics of our dinner last night on the ocean, and some of our day today. We're off for a walk and to finish up some errands. Marth just got back from THE best massage she's ever had. 70 minute massage for $35. She is looking pretty dang relaxed and needed to sit and get her bearings. Ahhhhh, this is the good life without a doubt.
I hear it's sweltering at home. Summer at its best in Ottawa.
See you at home real soon.
