Sorry I couldn't get online last night, we had some Internet issues.
Drew and I started our day going to downtown Playa to do some shopping and grab some lunch while watching a Euro Cup 2008 game. After lunch we headed to Tulum before going to his boss' beach house. Scott had a great place right on the water, and right next door to a place that charges 100 pesos ($10) to snorkel. It didn't cost us anything to get in the water since his yard backs up into it. While we were hanging out in the water we saw several colorful fish swim around us, it is a pretty cool spot to hang out.
Tulum is the sight of a Pre-Colombian Maya walled city which served as a major port for Coba. Inscriptions dated A.D. 564 have been found at the site, most of the structures visible, and in all the pictures we have, date between 1200 and 1450. The city remained occupied through the Spanish Conquest of the Yucatan, but was abandoned by the end of the 16th century. It was cool to walk around and see how the Mayans built their city. Drew and I both
agree that they had it figured out...right on the Caribbean!
Today Drew and I are going to watch the first soccer game in the hotel and then head to the beach for the day.
Smaller structureYou can see how close they built there city to the water. it is only a few meters from the structure to the edge of the cliff.
Inner city structureThere are several structures like this, off the water in the middle of the city.

It looks like you all are having a good time, and seeing some really great places. The Mayan ruins look so interesting. The history behind them, the culture that lived there. Really an interesting place I would think. Glad you are getting to see them.
