If you get seasick, take your dramamine and then head to Cozumel for a day of walking, biking and snorkeling. The only thin We did wrong was step 1 of these instructions. After the ferry ride to Cozumel, it took me a good hour to overcome the seasickness I got from the ride. During that time Fred found us a spot for lunch, bikes to ride and did recon on the snorkeling. I got to sit and feel nauseous then as I felt better, watch iguanas fall from the tree next to me.
We had lunch at Cafe Denis (sounded like Denny´s when the guy recommended it, and we were hesitant, but it was really NOT a Denny´s and it was really good.) Rented bikes from the place on the same street (one kept breaking on the way back, so maybe check your bikes beter than we did before you depart.) We decided to go to the Reserve and figure out the snorkeling from there instead of paying mucho dinero for a guided tour. We were glad we did. The deal at the reserve is $28 American for the day of snorkeling, beach access, a free t-shirt and 2-for-1 drinks
(for the first one each.)
Gotta go soon, so to sum up...I think I am a born snorkeler. LOOOOOVED the sport and not just because we got to see cool stuff underwater. I really felt no stress doing the snorkeling, which is a little surprizing since I have some fear of wqater.) But, with the water clear and warm...how could I be afraid? Suffice to say, if you can snorkel, try it.
The ferry ride back was better, as I had followed my directions above, and we got back town, had dinner on 5th avenue and headed for the car to drive to Tulum.
Checked into the Uolis Nah hotel, fell right to sleep and had another lazy day on the beach here. Where we played ¨fetch the cocoanut¨(nothing nasty!) with a stray dog, read our books and napped a little. Pizza for diner at a nice little restaurant where the server helped us with our Spanish. Tomorrow we snorkel in the cenotes (Fresh-water sink hole, sometimes in caves.) I am very excited!
