After a long overnight bus journey, we arrive in surfers paradise. We stand for 10 mins in awe of the magnificient waves, the biggest we have ever seen! We love the youth hostel here, the social enviroment is really positive and we meet lots of young travellers who are keen to hang out for a few days and enjoy the night life.
We enjoy watching the professional surfers and body borders throughout the day and after one very non-intentionally heavy night (lets just say we were sea sick), we try a spot of deep sea fishing with the locals . We caught a sea turtle and a huge sail fish!! (We didn´t keep them! The fishermen kept the sail fish (naughty) but we only stroked the turtle and put him back in the water).
We spend one night in a cabana along the coast at a smaller beach called Zipolite, although quite beautiful and hippy-tastic, due to the low season, this spot was too quiet for us. San Cristobal here we come...
