Oaxacaour Posada in Oaxaca - crystal clear water!!
As the saying goes ¨when in Rome do as the Romans do¨. Well we are in Mexico and are definitely doing as they do. We eat Mexican food, have a siesta in the afternoon, say mañana a lot (we will do it tomorrow) and have now been to a Mexican hairdresser. All I can say about the last experience is they do it differently here. We don´t quite look the same as when we left Australia. Maybe something was lost in the translation or I said the wrong Spanish word. Oh well folks it will grow on you as it has on us.
Geri went off too class this morning and I decided to go out and have breakfast and do my study there at the restaurant. Yes I ordered my meal in Spanish and a bigger surprise received what I thought I ordered. Geri and myself had organized to meet at an internet café. I was there at the set time and proceed to send emails, 2hours later still waiting……… eventually I headed back to our posada. As I´m walking back I saw Geri coming across the zocolo (plaza) from the wrong direction. She had found the wrong café but it was closed (siesta) so she returned to the posada. Surprised I wasn´t there she waited then started to panic. With a population of approx. 360,000 in Oaxaca it would have been very hard to find me. I guess the new hairstyle would have made it a little bit easier though.
Buying exotic fruit shakes and ingredients for our cooking class with the locals has improved our bartering skills. There are large amount of street Entrepreneurs hassling you with their wares or to pay for someone playing an instrument. There are just so many.
Hope you all had a great Easter and have saved us some chocolate eggs as we haven´t seen ONE chocolate egg since Christmas in Ballarat.
We have been trying to organize flights from Oaxoca to Cozumel (in Spanish) where we´ll be snorkelling and lying on the beach soaking up the rays.
Count down now until we come home so are now trying desperately to fit all the last minute sites into our trip. We will need another holiday after this trip. Might have to stay a couple more days!!!!
Shane Crawford and Dermot Bereton would definitely get a gig over here on the Mexican soapies.

This is a brief letter to my spanish teacher Peter and his wife Marcella. It is in spanish and hopefully I havent destroyed the language too much. Just letting them know Im putting my lessons to good use.
It hopefully says the following.
I have put the spanish lessons to very good use in Mexico. I speak to Geri in spanish to improve my vocubulary because I have to instil the language in my mind. Practise, practise and more practise. The big problem is mexicans speak very very fast. Until we return goodbye.
As you can see my entries in spaish arent very long or indepth. Hope Peter isnt shuddering to much with my attempt.
