Hello!!! I hope everything is going well for all of you where ever you might be around the world. Here in Mexico everything is hot and spicy!! I love it! School is starting this week and for the first time in a long time Im actually pumped! Guadalajara is a beautiful city...full of mexican spirit and tradition. We arrived a week and a half ago and like most people when arriving to a new place we meet all the canadians and americans so far in town. On top of it, we live in a apartement where most of the people from Canada...say hello to intergration in the new country..nope. But we just needed a place to start off in and to feel some security to begin with, expecially with Ben Harper getting elected, being with other Canadians ... read more

Que Onda? Mexico is still going great and this next segment is about my recent trip to Guadalajara. The city of Guadalajara is huge there are some 7 million folks there with malls, cars, clubs, fast food, pimps, bums, and stoplights just like any big U.S. city. Guadalajara is home to Tequila and Mariachi music. We traveled by bus, which is the easiest way to travel here in México. The bus tickets only ran $23 each and the ride itself was only 4 hours from Guanajuanto. In addition to the ride being cheap, it included a small sack lunch and they showed movies (Man on Fire and Spiderman 2) Once in the city of Guadalajara, I instantly felt at home, well with the exception that we were like the only black people and everyone spoke Spanish, ... read more

Don't have time to say much, but i'll update on our day in Guadalajara soon, lots of new pictures on the blog though! Enjoy! OK, so Guadalajara was more than just a day really, we left Sayulita at about 9pm Saturday night and got a ride from Chantel to San Fransisco (8 mins north of Sayu) we caught a bus north up to San Penta (sp?) and here we wandered the town, bought an Agua Fresca and checked out the strip. I bought another beer whilst jord was attacked by his own stomach. Will post a picture of him in the bus station toilete. Oh the aftermath. Caught a 12:15 bus to Guad. and arrived there at 3:54 AM. That sucked. Actually it was 4:54 with the time change. Waited in the bus station half asleep ... read more

So I had to spend a couple more days at Barre de Navidad than I’d planned to, quarantining myself in my hotel with the shits but it soon passed and I made my way to Guadalajara. You know when I said Mexico City rocked? I think I must’ve meant this badboy! I just had an unbelievably cool week there. The city’s quite modern and alive with music; during the day you can hear it coming from every shop, car and plaza but the place is something else after dark. There’s a couple of hundred thousand students too, so there's plenty of energy around. Found incredible live music almost every night I was there, from Barrio Zumba (a crazy four-piece Manu Chao-esque outfit) to Brazilian reggae to Cuban salsa. I even went to see Israel’s most popular ... read more

My Very First Blog Entry Today the first real day for David. We both attended the USD - ITESO orientation. This year there are 238 studnets particpating in the program. David has a total of 25 students between the two classes (Comparative and Mexican Politics). The ITESO campus is absolutely incredible. There is an incredibile amount of trees on the campus and so it is noticably cooler because of all of the shade that surrounds the building. David and I found our own little apartment. So we are so excited because it is nearly half the cost of the hotel options. Moreover, it has its own beautiful patio and is off a quiet street. It's also two blocks from the Centro Magno - where you can see movies for $5 per person and get large ... read more
