Toni and I decided to get off the ship early in the morning because we had docked rather early. When we got off the ship, it was raining but I didn’t really care. It was refreshing to be off the ship so early. We didn’t start back until about 2pm which was awesome. We went to have some food before getting off the ship. As soon as we got through the terminal we were confronted by a huge group of taxi drivers wanting us to take their taxis...rather expensive taxis if I don’t mind saying! He he. Anyway, we haggled a bit, and then saw Sharon had got off the ship too so she joined us. She haggled her way to a bargain taxi ride around the city to see the sights which we were happy with. The driver seemed pretty cool but I think he was a little annoyed hat we haggled him down so much. It continued to rain but we headed around the different sights anyway which was fun. One place that I really wanted to go to was the hotel where Tarzan was filmed back in the 60’s or whenever it was. A few people had spoken
about it so I was really excited! We also went to the markets where I bought some cool stuff. Anyway, first, we headed to some waterfront pubs that were very cool. They basically line the entire beach; along with restaurants. We started chatting to the barman who were very cool and they wanted a photo with us so we obliged! It was still raining so I had to waterproof Mujde’s camera with a plastic bag! It was awesome. At one of the waterfront restaurants there was this random trampoline so we jumped on it in the rain…so much fun!
Then we went to the place where the guys cliff dive into the water. It was pretty cool, however we weren’t told that you have to pay to see them jump. We found a vantage point though and took a photo of the guys on top of the cliff. It looks scary. They have this little altar at the top of the cliff where they pray each time before they jump off the cliff, and apparently no one has died from jumping…yet! One day, someone will forget to pray. He he. I got some nice cliff photos around there too
which was nice.
It was then off to the Tarzan hotel which was so beautiful. It was like a jungle; nice and fresh and green after the rain. Again, I got some awesome cliff parties which was really fun. It was great walking around with Sharon and Toni though; very funny people. We also went to the markets and I bought some souveniers; including a cool Corona bag which says Acapulco underneath the big Corona symbol. Yay! I also found my family some cool items!
After our city tour, Sharon headed back to the ship, but Toni and I went to eat some lunch. We walked along the shore past all these women who were selling things. They are very beautiful and nice people and work hard. We ended up eating at a place called 100% Natural which has smoothies, fruit mixes with yoghurt etc; it was so yummy and very refreshing to the start of the day (it was still early!). I continued to take lots and lots of photos (as I do), and got some very funny shots! It was time to head back to the ship so we walked back along the shore and got
back onboard. It had been an awesome, relaxing day in Acapulco and I loved it!
