I don't like to think that I will be leaving here as the time has just flown by! Seems that only yesterday we arrived and now it is almost time to go home. Well, as they say, "All good things must come to an end". I don't like it but I know that, God willing, we will be back next winter.
This week was kind of a busy one for me as I went into La Paz on Wednesday to interpret for a couple here in the park. They were applying for a discount card for seniors and had to go to what is the Mexican equivalent of Social Services. It was an interesting experience. They had word processors instead of manual typewritters!
Thursday I went to Cabo San Lucas with a neighbor here in the park. We wanted to go down to the flea market and see what kind of treasures we could find. By flea market, I mean the kind where the vendors sell their wares--trinkets, pottery, jewelry, t-shirts etc. I love to barter with them but the vendors were not very "hungry" to sell. I did manage to get a ceramic wall hanging at a good
price. We also visited Costco and then went to the Latitude 22 Road House for lunch. Great burgers and the ambiance is good. One of those places where people post their business cards and license plates from all over! It is located in a kind of romote area of CSL and not on the beach. It is known for its "No bad days" logo, I guess. So, of course, I got a new t-shirt for Mike and me!
Later we went to pick up my neighbor's company at the airport. Arrival was on time and we were back to the park around 5 pm.
One thing that I said I would NOT buy was an ATV but now we are proud owners of a Honda 250xs 3 wheeler! We got a good deal on it and it will help me in hauling the kayak down to the beach. My arms are killing me from doing it! But it has been rather windy so kayaking has been at a minimum. Mike is fearful that we will end up with all the "junk" we said we would not get! So I have been learning how to maneuver the ATV and
drive it safely. A 4 wheeler is a bit more stable, but I am not going to be "hot rodding" either.
So, that is the latest from your Baja Connection. We love to hear from you.

One more year and we still haven't met face to face.....maybe next year??? Love Big Red and would take a ride on it anytime.
Gorgeous here in Laguna and temps to reach 90 degrees by Monday....didn't go near the beach today or tomorrow, as I know it's packed!
Flea Markets are so much fun and I always find something I didn't know I needed. There's one here (in Costa Mesa) that is year-round and I love it....found adorable handpainted shirts for $1.99 last time I was there....yes, $1.99 and good quality fabric.
My friend who moved here from the Detroit area about the same time I did is moving back the end of June, and I'm so sad. She's tired of working so is quitting, will spend her summers at her lake home in Mi. and rent something here for the winter. She wants me to visit her later this summer, but I'm looking at 2 trips to Colorado and just don't know yet.
Enjoy your remaining days to the FULLEST! BTW, that picture at the Road House is weird....I see the blonde pushing back her hair but the other person in which looks headless!!!
