If three people are enough to have fun, it's also enough to run a mini-clinic. Dr. Mike, Emilea and Patricia volunteered one more day at Animalandia to finish a few surgeries that couldn't be done last week for various reasons. 6 spays and 3 neuters were done today. In addition to the surgeries that were planned, our new friend Jose got neutered. He will be moving to Washington with Dr. Mike. Choco is doing very well today, energetic, playing with other dogs and loving attention. He was neutered today so he can return home to his family.
A couple of dogs were brought from 2 hours away for evaluation. One had a limb deformity, but is doing well and needs no treatment right now. The other had a problem with his left eye caused by a deformity of his eyelid. The hairs and lashes from his eye have grown into the cornea of his eye and created damage to the eye and an infection. In order to prevent further problems and alleviate some of his suffering, the eye was removed today.

the clinic today. His body wall was damaged along with a segment of intestine. The poor little guy had surgery today to repair his body wall and remove the damaged segment of intestine.
After surgery was done, Lucy treated us all to dinner at our favorite spot, the Giggling Dolphin.
