We're getting a little behind with the blog updates - it's just hard to keep up-to-date with all the fun and activities cruising the Mexican Riviera. Hopefully everyone at home appreciates how tough this is on us.
Well, cruise #1 has come to an end after the final stop in Cabo San Lucas.
A beach resort town really, so after a quick parasail before breakfast (see pic) we headed off to the Marina to have a look around. Well actually, the plans were originally grander than that, but didn't last long (read on).
It didn't start off well with locals everywhere hassling us to buy their useless artefacts and trinkets. Just to clarify, I have no problem with the sellers, just a certain tourist who feels obliged to make eye contact and converse with each of them, individually, thanking them for their offers but explaining that we are not in fact interested in making a purchase at that point in time.
Then, about 3 minutes later, came the first pit stop - running repairs due to poor choice of footwear for a walk in 38 degree heat. But the said footwear did apparently match the white dress
that was being worn, and there were no feasible alternatives that were remotely fashionable - so absolute catastrophe luckily was avoided.
Not long after, the heat did get too much for Amanda, so after seeing her back on the boat, I decided to go back and see if there was anything to see in the town itself. Not really is the short answer - and it was hot work investigating. All I really have to show is a picture of a cactus and a blistering rash for which the internet hasn't provided a clear diagnosis.
After being reluctant to go, I dragged Amanda to our last dinner onboard. She battled her way through lobster bisque for a starter, salmon as her main, and melting chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert before not being well enough to continue.
Not a bad way to end a busy first leg of our trip - now off to Las Vegas to get some peace and quiet :)

Nice Pics. I know, its getting late here, but i would swear that the author changed from the start to the end of the report. We need By-lines folks so that we can pidgeon hole the stories (or parts of the stories). Looks a good time to me - but Im not sure who parasailed. I trust that there can only be one answer ....... As for the response for the trinket vendors, that has to be Steve. Mandy I am sure would by now be well trained in the standard two word McLennan response. Its universally understood!
Until later
Ian
Definitely only one author per entry - but we'll keep everyone guessing so no by-lines.
It was a Daley who conversed with the street vendors - but may go by another name on their birth certificate ...
