Sooooo hello!
This last week has had ups and downs. An up is that Erin and I, along with the young British guy, got extended at work. It was only the three of us out of seven, and I’m not entirely sure how they chose. Happy days though. There were a few times there that we thought we might get fired due to excessive facebook and texting, but now they’ve blocked facebook so it’s just texting that’s letting me down.
A down was that I got sick on Tuesday and still haven’t recovered. I took the day off Thursday and slept all day which helped, but went out Friday night and had the biggest night I’ve had in a while. That didn't help.
Erin and I were meeting Vanessa and Dee down at the Cambie, and invited our work peeps along for the ride. Sean & Luke came and we started the night off the right way; with shots of Fireball Whiskey. Fireball Whiskey is a drink I’ve never heard of, but my housemates got me onto it on Wednesday when we were having drinks on the back porch. It’s whiskey that tastes like cinnamon. I don’t like cinnamon and I hate whiskey, but this stuff is awesome! Shots go down easier than Jager, nice stuff. There's one rule to it though, before you shoot it you have to yell "Firebaaaalllllll Whiskeeeeyyyyyy" in your loudest most Southern accent. It was on special at the Cambie for $3.75 so all signs pointed to yes! Shot after shot after shot along with double vodka and cranberries meant I was drunk quite quickly. We started drinking at about 5, and I would say I would have been off my face by about 7. I have no grasp of time from that night though. I made new friends and got lots of photos (all trashy) with random people. I ended up going to another bar with Amanda, one of the girls I met, and her friends, and I caught the bus home. How I managed to get the bus home I don’t know, as I have no idea where it leaves from, but I got there. I remember meeting a guy at the bus stop and annoying him the entire way home. What I’ve just told you is about all I remember. Fun times!
The next morning I woke up, had a freak attack when I thought I had lost my camera (if you know me you’ll know the bad luck I have with cameras.. this was a very real freak attack!) I calmed down when I found it in my makeup bag.. Where everyone should keep their camera, obviously. I then found that I had received mail the day before. I heart getting mail more than I can explain, so send me stuff! This time it was a parcel from the family.. They had sent me a pair of my thongs from home (cos I’m yet to find somewhere that sells Havaianas) my three seasons of Arrested Development (which has helped me through my boredom & hangovers) Australian chocolate (you have no idea how much better it is than the stuff they have here!) eyeliner, and some nice poem things. Awwww!
I then met the girls in the city for IMAX. On the way I stopped and tried A&W, a fast food chain they have here. I needed the grease badly. Didn’t seem to help though. A word of advice; Don’t go to IMAX 3D when you’re hung over. Holy eff. Head spins, dizziness, nausea.. gross. Fun though! We were all less than energetic so our day stopped after watching two movies. I came home and watched Arrested Development and felt sorry for myself. Got an early night.
Sunday we had planned to do Capilano but, surprise surprise, it was raining again! Instead we went and saw What Happens in Vegas and had dinner at Whitespot. What Happens in Vegas was pretty good, and Whitespot, as always, was effing awesome. Whenever someone visits me I’m taking them to Whitespot. Seriously. Awesome.
So I’ve decided that I’m moving out of my house at the end of next month. I’m going on the Calgary/Edmonton/Montreal trip, which is about 3 weeks, then a few weeks later I’m doing New York/Toronto, then a few weeks later my parentals will be in the area for a few weeks and have booked 2 bedroom apartments everywhere, so I’m gonna tag along. Awesome! Why pay rent for that entire time I say, and there are a few things about this place I don’t like.. namely the rats. Don’t get me started, honestly. So in my downtime I’m going to couchsurf. Erin & Vanessa have kindly offered me their couch to sleep on, and I’ll go to a hostel if I become a burden. So yeah, homeless for a few months. I haven’t told my landlord yet, but will when I pay rent at the start of the month.
Lisa comes very soon to set up shop, and Simone will be here shortly after that. So exciting to have more people here!
Work has been made easier with the help of one or two men. My first man was Casey, with the hot phone voice. I would turn off my iPod every time I heard him speak, just so I could listen in. He would never talk about anything interesting, just Yellow Pages stuff, but god does he have a voice. This fantasy was ruined when I figured out who he was one day (he works a few cubicles over so I had never seen him) and he was just a normal looking guy. The man I had pictured in my head was Fabio-esque, only not at all. Fabio is gross. I think you understand what I mean though. I did pass him in the copy room today though and giggled like a school girl, the voice still does it for me. The second man is HMG. Hot Maintenance Guy. Only we’re not sure if he’s a maintenance guy. He could be a gardener, or an electrician. I first spotted him in the lunchroom sometime last week and it was love at first bite (get it? lunchroom.. bite?) We were using the microwaves together and there was a moment there.. I swear. Ever since then Erin and I have made it our mission to see him everyday.. Timing our lunch break just right, going on regular “bathroom” breaks, and me always keeping a lookout through the window. Today was the first day I haven’t seen him since I first spotted him and it was a sad, sad day.
Ummmmm so now that I sound like a perve/desperado/typical girl I guess I should either end this blog or think of something else to say..
I’m pretty sure I have nothing else so I guess this is it..
Kirsty xx

Ugh you have no idea how much slower the days go without facebook. It's sad really!
Maybe time will go faster once we're calling people.. More hot Canadian accents!
it's soo disappointing when you find out the guy with a really sexy voice is just an ordinary looking person... likewise when a really hot guy has a really squeaky, horrible voice!!
