Mountains and lightsI never actually know what I'm looking at, cause I don't read the information, but as you can see there are mountains and lights in this picture. End lesson
Yesterday I woke up and saw the sun shining for the first time in a long time, and decided it was a good day for the observation deck! So i rounded up the troops (minus Erin, she wasn't feeling well and isn't a big fan of lifts) and off we went!
They take you up in a glass elevator, woo! It's awesome! Moves a bit fast at the start, so your stomach ends up a little closer to your throat than usual, but it's fun.
The tower itself isn't very tall, only 50 stories (even the Sofitel in Melb is that tall, and that's just a hotel!) There's a poster in the tower showing a whole heap of skyscrapers around the world, and the Vancouver one is the shortest one by far. I don't know why they bother putting it up, it's like advertising that you're the most pointless observation deck in the world, but anyways.. The views were nice, as expected! I'm still in love with the fact that you can see buildings, water and mountains all at once.. You don't get that in many places! Awesome.
You get to go as many times as you want
in a day, so we went during the day, then Mary-Anne and I went again as the sun was setting. We mis-timed the sun setting a little so were there a few hours, but it's all good!
After that we went and got tea and met up with my new Swedish roommate Martina for a drink at the Beaver. Martina spent a few years in Australia, so she has this weird hybrid accent that changes from Swedish to Aussie. It's cool.
Yesterday I did a round of phone calls, sorry if I missed you.. ran out of time! There will be another round soon, let me know if you want to be included :)
Today I think we're off to Metrotown, the shopping centre near my house. Hopefully we go to the movies, I have a hankering to watch a movie. Odd I know. All the theaters here only open late.. On weekends it's like 1:30ish, but on weekdays it's 7ish. Odd, surely people would want to go see a movie during the day?
I know I had other things to say, but of course it's all gone now that I'm here.
Hope everyone is
doing well
Til next time
xx
The sun settingThe colours weren't overly amazing, cos it was cloudy. Can't win them all!

I know your in Canadia and all, but you know you could have got mountains, water and buildings all in one for about $100 return, instead of $2000 one way?
