Mum commented on how long it's been since I posted a blog, so I thought I should get on it, before you all think I'm dead or something!
Things have definitely gotten better since I've met the Aussie/New Zealand girls. I have people to do stuff with, people to talk to, it's awesome!
Yesterday Mary-Anne (the New Zullander) and I went to get our SINs (TFN basically). It was easy enough to do, didn't take too long. Getting there though, was another story. We went up and down the elevators and stairs, through every hallway, until we eventually found it. You think they'd make it easy for the foreigners, but not so.
After we got that sorted I took Mary-Anne to Tim Hortons. She'd never been before, and I was a pro by now, having the day before for the first time. Tim Hortons is basically Canada's version of Starbucks. It's pretty awesome. Their XL coffee will have you racing for the toilet in no time, and is only $2.15 or something. I got soup, a breadroll, donut and coffee for like $4.50. It's effing crazy. The lineups are always massive, which isn't surprising, given the prices.
After
our coffee fix we were joined by Erin (one of the Aussies) and Sheena (Erin's new roommate) and we went to Stanley Park for a horse drawn carriage ride around the park. It was nice. I've always thought it would be romantic to go on a carriage with a boy, but both times I've been it's been with girls haha.. Some day. The tour takes you to the Totem Poles (which are awesome!) among other things.
We then met up with Vanessa and all went to this really good Indian restaurant. Good day!
We've been taking advantage of the restaurant at the backpackers across the road (where the other girls are all staying) they have a different meal every night for 3.95. Deal!
Today I'm off to the Museum of Anthropology, and I think we're checking out Gastown later on.
I'll try and update more often, it just takes so long to do! Don't worry though, I'm still here!!
xx
Salmon CrossingA little river in Stanley Park. I think it's called Salmon Crossing..
