The Rockies
Jasper
Spent 10 hours on the bus getting to Jasper from Vancouver. Stayed at a hostel in the forest and did some good hikes nearby.

Lake Louise
Got a ride with an older Candian couple who insisted on stopping in at all the waterfalls on the way to Lake Louise and even made us lunch. Stayed at the campground, with a kiwi and a couple of German dudes doing their sabbaticle, and got rained out one night so spent that night sleeping in the cooking hut with pieces of cardboard and tarps hanging over the door ways to keep us dry and toasty warm with the fire going side. Hiked out to the infamous Lake Louise and also to Moraine Lake, the bluest lake I've ever seen.

Banff
Well after a month on the road my bank balance told me that it was time to get another job so that is how I came to live in Banff, getting myself 3 jobs in the process, at a Dollar Store, Internet Cafe and a Heli-ski company. Only in a town like Banff could you get yourself so many jobs within days of arriving and have employers who are only too willing to give you the exact shifts that you want. Unfortunately the general living costs are completely out of line with the general wages but the beauty of the mountains and the vibe of the town
more than make up for the lack of funds.
