Canada's paramount political problem is meeting public demands for quality improvements in health care and education services after a decade of budget cuts. The issue of reconciling Quebec's francophone heritage with the majority anglophone Canadian population has moved to the back burner in recent years; support for separatism abated after the Quebec government's referendum on independence failed to pass in October of 1995.

Gorgeous Montreal in winter

I am privileged to be posting this journal from Canada while enjoying my first visit to this wonderful country. While on the road Canadians have always held a special place in my heart, I believe they share with Australians a spirit of fun and adventure which has made them excellent travel companions during many overseas trips. Finally John let me write...

Finally John is letting me write an e-mail entry. Unfortunatly he has said everything we have done thus far so there is not much more i can say really. So far iim having a fantastic time. Hey all you travel junkies and invisable friends out there. I have been here in good old Montreal for a few days now and damnit it is cold! Good thing this favourite city of mine has an underground city! Take that mother nature!
