Background: A land of vast distances and rich natural resources, Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867 while retaining ties to the British crown. Economically and technologically the nation has developed in parallel with the US, its neighbor to the south across an unfortified border. Canada's paramount political problem is meeting public demands for quality improvements in health care and education services after a decade of budget cuts. The issue of reconciling Quebec's francophone heritage with the majority anglophone Canadian population has moved to the back burner in recent years; support for separatism abated after the Quebec government's referendum on independence failed to pass in October of 1995.

Well looks like I should be leaving sometime in the near future (I sure hope so because I'm living with a collegue thinking I'm leaving at the end of this week...) and the first two countries on my list are : 1- Namibia 2- Uganda I'm looking very forward to visiting these two countries (or should I say working like crazy in these countries?!) and I hope I'll have some time to post pictures and comments =) Ok, I better get back to work... so much preparation needed before we can leave.... We caught the train to Quebec which turned out to be a city that felt very European. It was cold and snowed a little. At this point I had a very bad cold. But I did manage to buy myself a new jacket which I really liked. Then we walked around the town which was very small. The journey from New York to Montreal was a bit of a mission, having to go through customs to enter Canada. It all went ok though and everyone on the bus got back on it.
