The issue of reconciling Quebec's francophone heritage with the majority anglophone Canadian population has moved to the back burner in recent years; support for separatism abated after the Quebec government's referendum on independence failed to pass in October of 1995.

Das beste was es in kanada östlich der rockies in sachen wintersport gibt ist der Mont Tremblant. Seine gewaltigen 968m höhe jagen jedoch noch nichtmal mir wintersport-legastheniker angst ein. hier fährt also nur ski, wer es absolut nötig hat bzw. sich den trip in die rockies nicht leisten kann/will.... so wie pauline & patrick ;-P andré, verena und ich sind abends dort angekommen, nach lustiger fahrt quer durch die wildniss des (für europäische verhältnisse) extrem dünn besiedelten teils von quebec. nach auto-sliden aufm parkplatz (scheiß amikarren mit handbremse für den fuß...) und käsefond [View Full Entry]

Verena, André und ich sind für einen Tag nach Quebec City, während die ranzosen (pauline & patrick) schonmal vorgefahren sind zum Mont Tremblant um einen Tag Ski zu fahren. Die Altstadt von Quebec City (rund um das hotel/schloss frontenac) ist klein & schön, ansonsten haben wir noch nen 83m hohen wasserfall gesehen, auf dem weg nach Mont Tremblant. [View Full Entry]

Am 7. dezember haben André, Verena, Pauline, Patrick und meine wenigkeit unseren roadtrip durch franzosen-kanada (quebec) gestartet. unterwegs per mietauto war unser erstes ziel montreal. schöne stadt, besonders old montreal, der historische stadtkern am hafen, wo auch unser hostel war. leider war es SEHR kalt, mit windchill müssen es wohl -20° oder kälter gewesen sein, kann mich nicht erinnern jemals so ein eingefrorenes gesicht gehabt zu haben. waren auf dem mont royal (dem die stadt ihren namen verdankt), von wo man einen sehr schönen blick auf die stadt hat. außerdem am olympiastadion v [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! I know I haven't updated this in ages but I have been having serious computer issues (admitedly my fault, there may or may not have been some milk involved). And then there were two.... We randomly decided that we wanted to go to Montreal again. Our first mistake: taking the 4am bus on saturday morning. And going to bed at 2am. That bus ride was so bad. I cant remember being more tired in a long time. Second mistake: deciding to find accomodation when we got there. That wasn't very much fun before 7am. This awful flu bug just went around our office... and my Country Manager and I were not spared. So we aren't ready to leave tonight... which means we are not leaving tonight! I just had a croissant and coffee. So far so good - nothing has come up. I'm less dizzy than I was in the last few days too.
