Montreal!! We scanned the addresses of narrow, tall buildings decorated with clotheslines until we spotted my Auntie Claude flagging us down on the side of the road. A few moments later my Antie Sylvie came running down the road, having come home from work. It' was awesome to see my Aunties and great to be back in Montreal! We were spoiled with some Atlantic salmon for dinner that night and bored my family with our newly aquired biking stories.
The next day we ate breakfast while rocking out to "Candyshop" (my aunt is pretty hip, what can I say) before heading out to the Montreal Grand Prix. Brad drooled over the cars and girls while I drooled over the free samples and French restraunts. There was live music and great people watching as far as the eye could see. Best of all, there was en empty boxing ring - Brad and I took it's emptiness as an invitation and climbed in and settled some buisness. Let's just say Brad will be pretty sore on the ol' bike.
My Auntie Sylvie then pushed us into the cab and ordered the driver to
take us to Old Montreal where we took a carriage ride around the city...we felt famous. We had a lunch of crepes like true Montreal-ers and spent the evening at an ultra-hip restraunt/club/bar in Little Italy. We got introduced to Sangria blanc, and then re-introduced, then reinrtoduced again,...yes, we had a lot of Sangria blanc.
The next day we hit up the local market; fresh fish, maple everything, pastries, cheese...and FRUIT!!!!! My version of heaven, is what it was, pretty much was. We grabbed one of every fruit and bought some pastries - it had to be done. Later we walked through the lambhourgini lined streets to my Auntie Noelline's house and had a fantastic dinner.
The next day was a family affair, it was an early father's day celebration and the whole family got together for some burgers. It was a great and relaxing way to end our stay in Montreal.
