Tadoussac
Whale interpretation Center We left Tadoussac at 12:30 after visiting the whale interpretation center. We could see lots of Belougas in the distance. Tadoussac is a quaint little tourist town, well worth visiting.
We asked locals including the coast guard how we should plan our departure from the Saguenay River and most said check the time of high tide at Pointe-au Pere and leave 2 hours after that. Well maybe but we left the river at 8 knots an hour and when we got to the mouth we were down to 3 knots and being turn every which way by the rip tide. Oh well our track line looks a little odd but here we are.
It was a beautiful sunny calm and warm day so we took advantage of it to make way. An hour after heading out the fog moved in and we looked at gray most of the day. We still managed to see seals, dolphins and lots of loons. We prefer foggy and a sheet of glass on the water to clear and windy and bouncy. We have radar and Marine Traffic so we could see where the ships were. One passed close by and we didn't see

Beautiful scenery it but felt it's wake.
We are still underway at 8:30 heading to Cap Colombier to anchor for the night. We should be leaving at 4 in the morning tomorrow to catch the right tide. The currents from now on are not as strong.

Simone, did you get the emailed docs I sent to you? Did you take any pics of those whales, dolphins, etc.? Would love to see some. Happy cruising! Hugs, Ruth
