2 and half weeks to go, which hardly seems possible. And, even though we're still in disbelief, there's a ton of practical stuff that needs to be taken care of. Moving/parking/storage/insurance/visas are all demanding our attention, and work, well, work isn't over until it's over, and that's at least five days away. We've sewn our flags onto our backpacks, realized the value of thimbles (who knew?), and reviewed our packing and shopping lists. Our arms are sore from yet another round of shots, and there's still one more to go until we're invincible! I've contacted a couple of hotels in Delhi, and received no response. So I am getting a little nervous that'll we'll be at the mercy of the touts when we arrive - hopefully someone will write back soon! I've heard that the introduction ... read more

welcome to our travel blog! Here we will keep track of our adventures as we cross Canada for the benefit of ourselves and friends and family interested in hearing about what we’ve been up to! First I will begin by explaining how we got this opportunity to do this trip. Geoff works for a company called BOOM! Marketing. He was involved in the development of a program for one of their clients, Schick, to promote their new razor, the Quattro Titanium. The program is a secret shave lab that is staffed by Dr. Smooth and 3 lovely lab assistants. Guys are welcomed to enter the Shave Lab to participate in a secret experiment. In the end, they leave with a brand new Titanium razor and a lab report, which includes a coupon for replacement blades. The ... read more

I woke up at 2am because my tooth was aching very badly. I went to brush my teeth and wash it out several times but the pain wouldn’t subside. I didn’t have any painkillers or aspirins on me so I went for an early morning walk around to find any store that would sell anything to alleviate my pain. I went back to walk up Yonge St and there was still the calmness and safeness that I hadn’t experienced in any other Northern American city at night. For once, I felt safe to be out at night by myself. I continued walking around but I only found a coffee house called Tim Horton’s, where I bought a bottle of water as well as a hot coffee. There was a bum that was outside the store ... read more

By now it was 4pm but it didn’t feel that we had been on the road for so long or travelled so far. We crossed the Niagara River twice, further adding to the climactic build up to the actual border crossing! The third crossing was on the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge and I spotted a US flag next to a Canadian flag. We had made it! Hi fives all round! We didn’t have to wait that long before being officially let into the country, as opposed to the traffic banking up in the opposite direction. I had to get a stamp on my passport, as I wasn’t a US citizen so we drove up to an office to be quizzed by immigration. “So, how long are you both here for?” Dani replied, “I’m here for the weekend. ... read more

So I spent my last couple of days in Toronto trying to catch up with everyone and a lot of time procrastinating from doing the things that actually meant I was leaving, like packing and booking buses etc. I've actually grown quite fond of Toronto; culturally it offers an abundance of variety and has a very open and accepting feel to it. There are a lot of things that i'll miss about Toronto and I think that it is a place that I would consider living in permanent conditions in the future. The last thing I did in Toronto was my going away dinner, which was, while quite sad for me (there where no tears, give me some credit would you) a lot of fun, i was stoked that so many people made an effort to ... read more

G'day ! Well, I am in Toronto right now. I stayed here last night and I am probably going to leave tomorrow I think. I had to leave Montreal - very low on money and I couldn't find work there. I had a great time there though for a couple of weeks - Wrestling, a couple of ice hockey games, the Chili Peppers (again !), went to a theme park and hit the rollercoasters etc, and met some and hung out with friends from the hostel. Oh, and I even made it to New York for a look as well. Wooooo, pretty exhausting eh !? After Montreal, I went to Niagara Falls for a night. Unreal ! Just like a mini Las Vegas or somehing. The falls were spectacular ! I went on the famous Maid ... read more

We made it to Toronto and now can take pictures again!!!! Toronto was a delightful city full of cool architecture, history and young people. It has some european/french flavor to it but I would say probably more of a British / American mixture. We went up one of the world's tallest structures, the CN tower. It was worth the climb. It is quite high and a glass floor awaits you when you reach the top. You can then look down to your feet and see all the way down to the ground. We then took a tour bus in the hopes of learning more about the city. It turned out to be like a school bus ride where we got minimal explanation and stopped avery 5 minutes to drop people off or pick them up. We ... read more

Okay! So for all the right reasons i have decided that it is time to leave toronto. I'm really excited because, assuming money permits i am going to head through the states and then onto vancouver. But otherwise i'll head straight to vancouver. I'm going to transfer from godiva toronto to godiva vancouver which is nice because it means i'll have a job there waiting for me when i get there. I'll work there for 2 months and then i'll be back in Toronto for Christmas and New years. After that i'm heading to montreal, quebec (even though i've already been, i want to see them in snow) and then to halifax to see the east coast and Prince Edward Island. I'm very excited! So, before i leave i intend on spending alot of time telling ... read more
