1st leg of Canada/US road trip: Niagara Falls & Toronto

Woo hoo! We made it! Welcome to Lindsay & Lucy's travel blog for road trip Canada / US 2007!!!

We arrived in Hamilton on Wed 12th after slight delay in take off! STA will pay! Stayed in Hamilton overnight (sadly too tired to experience the delights offered by Hooters which was right below our hotel...ah well we have 6 weeks!) and headed to Niagara Falls on the 13th.

The Falls are big, wet, tacky and brilliant! We were so lucky with the weather, sunny and gorgeous. Result! Donned our attractive blue ponchos and jumped on the Maid of the Mist boat where we got soem fab photos and the soaking of our lives. It was fab. Walked miles around Niagara (with me still in poncho for large part of it - dancing down the street. Fully loving it!)

Headed to Toronto the next day and another sunny one. Wooo! Straight up the CN Tower for fab views over the city and lake Ontario. Bravely stepped out on the glass floor. So proud! then went for a walk down by the harbour front which was cool and the lake is v pretty. Got last minute tickets for High School Musical at the theatre. Oh baby! It was so much fun. Although Lucy and I were tempted to steal a child for the duration as we were by far the oldest people there without kids! (Its ok, we didn't!). Yesterday we went shopping and had a lazy one, went to the cinema (for free! Working the celtic charm to full effect!) and saw 'The Brave One' which was cool. Drank some vino from a carton (we're all class!) and then headed out in Toronto last night. Had a v funny night and typically ended up in an Irish bar! haha! Did you know that everyone in Canada has family that are either Scottish or Irish?!!! Or it seemed so anyway. They were naturally upset that we didn't know them! So feeling a bit delicate today and have spent most of the day eating, drinking coffee and uploading photos!

Going to meet Andy, Rhoda, Karin and Jon (Lindsay's parents friends and kids) for tea tomorrow and gonna do some more sight-seeing then we're thinking we'll hire a car and head to Ottawa which is meant to be fab and poss Montreal (not sure on the distances tho!!!)

Having a fab time and not killed each other just yet!!!
