HI again! I'm back after a few days of procrastination. lol Well on Mon Sept the 6th, after moving in and all the introduction, we had a residence meeting. Everyone who stayed on the same floor gathered in this small lounge room at a corner equipped with a microwave and chairs around. It was a pretty cosey place for everyone to gather. I was overwhelmed with all the information they provided, especially all the clumps of names that cluttered in my mind. It was messy. We introduced ourselves, our names, our origins and also one of our hobbies. So I was the only one who was an exchange student on that floor. Everyone... literally Everyone was Canadian but from different parts of Canada. I was the only one international and 19 hours away from home. I felt special, everyone thought so too. Since it was not common for someone from Asia to go right to the other end of the globe. It was awkward, everywhere I went I get weird stares and questions like.. Are you from China? Or Korea? ... hmmm But my current close friends told me their first impression they got was that I'm a Banana (meaning: Yellow outside and white inside). It really means that I look Like an American Asian. That was quite a complement i guess. First impressions... lol they are intriguing. Well the meeting was kinda dreadful. I was so nervous, i felt like was about to hyperventilate. It was so hard to calm down I could hear my heart beat so fast and hard and my breaths were getting lesser and softer. I was so happy to get the introduction done and over with. Phew.. Public speaking... Well then we all headed down to the Lowenberg residence Barbeque whish was meant to be free but we were sadly all charged at 10+ CND.. :( booo but some of the guys went downstairs to complain and send an email which I thought to be futile but still at least they did something. Eating was good. We had like a beef burger and also a hotdog which I thought was smth i like. I met new people like 2 Williams, one with ginger hair and braces, stout but pretty tall and the other who was slimmer and taller. Both were Canadians. I also met this guy called Neil who had a very sweet smile and good manner. He is originally from India and his smile was so warm I thought. I felt welcomed.. I was shivvering that day due to the cold weather. And William were laughing at me, with my teeth chattering like they were dancing with the wind.. Strong breeze.brrrr.. but they said this is nothing. And i Agree.. I am not so used to the cold weather. Well i'm up for the challenge. I jsut need to wear more thick clothes to keep warm thats all. Eventhough I may look like a dumb ass wearing so many layers. To me health is more important. After the BBQ we went to Smells Like Brock Spirit - O Week Kick Off where everyone from different residence gathered in the middle of the field right infront of the tower. They started giving out mosquito whacks white in colour and also small stress sponge with Brock Uni labels on them. There were black sponges and also small sponges that looked like rugby balls in orange which looked hard at first. We thought it was dangerous to throw these things so high but then we realized they were soft.. But then came the Frisbees which was hard!. Soon enough the whole sky seemed to be raining sponge and Frisbees. Haha but then I caught an Orange T-Shirt from the ground. I thought I was really lucky! I loved it.. lol my friends told me to keep it since i found it. which i did. Then after some competition of who was the best dancer from the crowd and who beat boxed the best, we all walked back towards Lowenberg where there was a "Burning a Student's Room" Display. There was a fire truck, small wooden displays with posters (Justin Bieber's) and a table and chair in it representing a student's room. Here they showed how fast a room can be totally burnt and destroyed. There was a fire truck just beside and it roughly took about just 2 mins to get the whole cupboard burnt. So it was pretty quick. But i missed most of it because I was pushed out and blocked by the crowd of tall Canadians.. :( I was too short and there was no way I could make my way pass the crowd because they would be mad if i did. But I got this Canadian- African Guy who was so tall and could help me to video the whole process. So I am satisfied with the overall video that he took:D.. After the event of burning and thick smog rising up towards the darkening sky, we girls made our way to our dorms to get changed for a "So You Think You Can Brock? Tower Party and Guiness World Record Attempt"
