Nous voilà à Parry Sound, après quelques 12 jours depuis notre départ du Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club. So far, we travelled some 473 nautical miles and had to go through 48 locks. The weather in general has been very good with plenty of warmth and lots of wind except for the past few days.

À Burleigh Falls, Yvette a eu le plaisir d’avoir la visite de sa sœur Marie et John et de sa nièce Mimi qui vit à Halifax.

Hier, à l’écluse 42 juste après le Lac Simcoe et Orillia, nous avons été retardés près de deux heures. Il était devenu difficile de remplir l’écluse car les grillages où passe l’eau, étaient bien remplis d’herbes empêchant le flot d’eau. Ceci nous a permis de voir complètement le fonctionnement d’une écluse. Parks Canada employees had to raise a door in the front of the lock and then empty the reservoir in order to get access to the screens full of weeds as you can see on the pictures. All along the Trent Waterways, we were very often all by ourselves to lock, but we always managed to be ready for the first lockage when they opened at 8:30. We will be happy to be away from locks for the next while.

Le niveau de l’eau est au-dessus de la normale et le paysage toujours aussi beau et il n’est pas surprenant que les américains qui font la ‘’loop’’ disent que la partie préférée est la Baie Georgienne. Nous nous dirigeons vers Killarney et au cours de la semaine prochaine, nous devrions rejoindre les Kimpton à bord du General Delivery.
