The Nations capital

So Thursday I flew from sunny Toronto, Ontario to the nations capital. Ottawa, Ont. I flew into Ottawa to visit some friends of mine. They just moved to Ottawa earlier this year. I’ve always wanted to get to Ottawa so this was a great excuse. Well right when I came in Lee was at the airport to pick me up. After she picked me up we decided to check out the city and do some tourist stuff. Well there are some must sees when you in Ottawa.
1- Parliament buildings.
2- Royal Mint ( where the money is printed)
3- Supreme court of Canada
4- The Market ( downtown)
5.- War museum
Well the first place that we went to was the Parliament buildings. So we parked down the street and walked to the building in he nice 27 degree weather. The view of the parliament and the green, green grass it was awesome. We decided to do a little tour of the buildings and we went up to the Peace tower. The Peace Tower is the center tower of the buildings, it’s a memorial of the names of every Canadian ever killed in any war. After we left the Peace tower we went and toured the outside and walked next to the famous library. Being such a huge tourist attraction there were tones of people laying and playing frezbee on the lawn. I was told that the craziest time to be at the buildings is Canada day on July 1. We also decided to go to the War Museum where they showcase and educate on every war Canada was involed in. One cool thing was the huge tanks and Hitler’s original car.( see the pictures)

After we decided to go for a dive around. We went across the bridge that separates Ottawa from Quebec. Quebec is the French part of Canada, Lee wanted to show me the Huge Casino that Quebec has. So we went in to test our luck, Lee didn’t do to well and I knew my luck at casino’s so I just watched her lose all her money hahha This was also the first time I have ever been in Quebec so it was a cool experience. After that we drove back into Ottawa we looked at many government Buildings such as the Supreme Court, US embassy, and tones of different museums.
Ottawa is a very clean city with lots of different things to do. At the time when I was there the Ottawa senators Hockey Team made it to the Stanley Cup. The world Cup of Hockey, the Super Bowl of Hockey, the …..you get the point. So the city was going nuts with 30,000 people going to daily peep rally. Later on sadly the Ottawa senators lost the Stanley Cup to Anaheim Ducks.

After we were all tourist out we wanted to go sit and have some lunch in the market. The Market is in the center of downtown. It’s awesome place at night to go… as I would find out. But it’s a great place during the day. We decided to go to the Hard rock Café for some drinks and lunch. Now he’s a example of how small the world is…. As I come up to the hard rock this girl is a server ready to sit us down. She looks at me and goes “Jon is that you” I look and it a friend of mine from Grand Turk. I knew she lived in Ottawa and I was going to try and met up with them later on in the week. But I could have picked any restaurant but we went there a saw someone I met in the Caribbean. Small World. The next day me a Amanda went out to the market and had some more drinks and had a blast. Seeing some cool dogs that did tricks, also doing a piett thing meeting and getting crazy pictures with the weirdest people in town. Always having Fun.

My next trip is back to my home town Regina, Saskatchewan the prairies of Canada. Saskatchewan has the most amazing sky’s and scenery. But I will not write about Regina yet. The next trip I’m on is my trip back to Thailand. I really cant wait till that trip again.
