So, for the labor day weekend, myself, 4 Danes and 5 Italians decided to head north of the border, roadtrip style!! We rented a couple of cars and set off for the 800 mile round trip on Friday afternoon. Needless to say, Canadian immigration were slightly baffled to see a lone Englishman sat with four Danes, as if I'd been kidnapped or something!
We arrived in the city of Niagara, ON, after dusk, but in time to see a fireworks display over the falls, which was quite spectacular. A word also on the town - some say it is Canada's answer to Las Vegas, with it being full of bright lights and casinos. The best patr, well for me anyway, was the drinking age. 18! Needless to say I made the most of it!
We left our hostel early on Saturday morning and headed straight for the falls, taking in views of both the American and Canadian falls. The weather for the whole weekend was beautiful. We also went on a bit of a boat trip below the falls which was good too.
Later that day we headed for Toronto. I loved Toronto, I must say, it seemed
safe and clean. The CN tower is what comes to miond when I think of Toronto and it certainly didn't dissapoint to the naked eye! The main problem for us was that with it being labor day weekend, there wasn't a single hostel bed in the whole city that wasn't taken! Also, the Italians (being Italians) parked in a dodgy spot and had their car towed by the police!
We also spent the majority of Sunday in Toronto, and then drove around the top of Lake Ontario and stopped for the night on a boat in Kingston (where I met a bloke from Leeds!). On Monday morning, we saw the Thousand Islands, which was a nice little end to our trip!! It was a great, if a little costly, first trip of my year in the States!
A word on my first Frat Party! Loved the free booze, and also loved making the most of my British accent! Loads more of them, I think!
Anyway, I'm going to try and get better at these as I think it's all rather descriptive, but ah well only my 2nd I guess!
Caio for now!

Hahaha, brilliant is perhaps not the right adjective! I'm not great at writing unfortunately!! I'll do another entry after this weekend; I've been a bit lazy recently!
I have altered my accent slightly, don't sound too posh though as I couldn't keep it up!! Enjoy the rest of Freshers x
