We've done the Planes and the Automobiles, and tomorrow we embark on the Train part. We leave Toronto for New York onboard Amtrak for 12-ish hours. We are looking forward to this next leg of the journey, but are also sad to leave behind Diane, Tanya, Claudia, Jasmine and Claude (who we didn't see, but did eat his yummy food!). We were spoiled rotten by Diane and her family. We've eaten enough food to see us through a lean month if necessary! Thank you to Diane, Claude, Tanya and Claudia!
On Thursday we visited Niagra Falls - first time for me and second time for Peter. They are actually quite spectacular in Winter and there are NO crowds! We were very surprised at the "entertainment park" feel of the town. There are Haunted Houses, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Guiness World Record Museum, Wax Museum, movie theatres, arcades, strip clubs, bars, restaurants, casinos, hotels and motels. Not at all what I would have expected. The Falls themselves are very beautiful and definitely a sight to be seen. It was a bitterly cold day, as you will see by our attire in the photos.
On Friday (today) we went into
Toronto and went up the CN Tower. It was a beautiful clear day (and chilly) so we could see quite far. We got some great pics from the tower.
Now we are repacking (we got a little comfy here and spread out) and will be up early to be back into downtown Toronto for 7-ish Saturday morning.
Here we come New York!
