One Last Post Before I Hit the Road... I Mean Air...?!?!
Today is an exciting, scary, and wonderful day. By this time tomorrow I will be 40,000 above the Atlantic Ocean. Crikey! :)
Warm wishes and good lucks keep coming in on facebook. They've been super motivating and a sweet reminder of all of the people behind me on this journey.
I said goodbye to my mom and sister yesterday before going to my dad's who will take me to airport Sunday afternoon. My mom was overprotective as always, but I secretly (or not so much now since she may read this!!!) think she is just as excited for me to be on this journey. If anyone asks, she tells people I am staying at the Holiday Inn in Toronto, not on the side of a mountain in Tanzania or in a backpacker hostel in Uganda, etc.
One last trip to Zellers and Canadian Tire today left me with a couple of luggage locks and the Canadian flag I will wave patrotically from all 3 summits - I must!
I've never been packed this early before a trip. While it was a bit or an ordeal getting everything to fit. It will. I'm confident that once I take out the things I won't need for 3 Peaks and distribute properly that I have enough gear, snacks, and books to keep me company. But in the meantime, MAN... I have a lot of stuff in one big backpack!
Now I'm playing the waiting game - even worse than tomorrow at the airport when I leave cancel my cellphone and leave it here in Canada.
So I am expecting some tossing and turning tonight - which will hopefully serve me well on my flight to Amsterdam and then to Nairobi.
To many of you the pictures I am adding onto this post won't mean much - but they are selfishly being posted so that I can easily access them everytime I come to this site. To remind me of the big team I have back home cheering me on. I love it!
If you are on here it's cuz I love you. If you aren't it is because I couldn't find a pic of you, but love you just the same!
